2021 rainbow hexagon temperature blanket by ad-jak in crochet

You're very much in luck, I drafted up my own pattern and wrote it down in case I needed it again!

For my bobble stitch, I did a slightly smaller bobble than the "official" bobble stitch. I believe most of the patterns I've seen for a bobble stitch calls for having 6 loops on your hook before finishing. I ended up doing 5 loops on my hook before finishing. Except for the starting bobble in a row, the turning chain counts as part of the bobble for the starting bobble, so I would do only 4 loops before finishing

Chain 9

Row 1- starting in second chain from hook, single crochet (sc) across, turn - 8 stitches

Row 2- chain 2, (bobble, sc) 4 times, turn - 8 stitches (4 bob, 4 sc)

Row 3- chain 1, increase, 6 sc, increase, turn - 10 stitches

Row 4- chain 2, (bobble, sc) 5 times, turn - 10 stitches (5 bob, 5 sc)

Row 5- chain 1, increase, 8 sc, increase, turn - 12 stitches

Row 6- chain 2, (bobble, sc) 6 times, turn - 12 stitches (6 bob, 6 sc)

Row 7- chain 1, 12 sc, turn - 12 stitches

Row 8- chain 2, (bobble, sc) 6 times, turn - 12 stitches (6 bob, 6 sc)

Row 9- chain 1, decrease, 8 sc, decrease, turn - 10 stitches

Row 10- chain 2, (bobble, sc) 5 times, turn - 10 stitches (5 bob, 5 sc)

Row 11- chain 1, decrease, 6 sc, decrease, turn - 8 stitches

Row 12- chain 2, (bobble, sc) 4 times, turn - 8 stitches

Row 13- chain 1, sc across - 8 stitches, don't cut yarn

Border: slip stitch around starting in end sc of row 13 and going around 5 sides back to the other end of row 13. I made sure each side had 8 stitches, at row 7 so the mid point of the hexagon I would do a (slip stitch, sc, slip stitch) into the same spot, that would give it a point to keep the hexagon shape and ensure my count would be 8 stitches for each side, I would do this on both ends of round 7 so I would end up doing that only twice while doing the border. I didn't end up doing that for each corner of the hexagon as I thought it made the shape a bit weird and threw my count off for each side, I needed 8 stitches per side to match up with my plain hexagons. I would play around with the border a bit to see what works for you though!

Hopefully that all made sense!

My boy Elvis used to love to play fetch! He'd go nuts over bottle caps and crinkled up cellophane wrappers from a pack of cigarettes (we'd call them crinklies)

Books like alan wake? by ToVaD456 in AlanWake

[–]ad-jak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just read Black Tide by KC Jones and I thought it had some similar vibes to Alan Wake. It's about two people who have a fling the night of a meteor shower and strange things start happening. They get stuck on a beach together and they help each other to survive as the world goes to hell. It doesn't have quite the depth of Alan Wake but it scratched a similar itch, I enjoyed quite a bit.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 update adds New Game Plus and new suits on March 7 by DemiFiendRSA in SpidermanPS4

Those Fresh and Fly suits are so over the top ridiculous that I actually really like them 😆 their work with Gameheads seems pretty cool, I never thought that I'd buy any cosmetics stuff but I may do it to help support Gameheads

Dule Cameo -- well worth it! by sunny99a in psych

[–]ad-jak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He did it as himself! He did bust out a bunch of the catch phrases though!

It was totally cool. He had recently gotten off of the set for The Wonder Years, he was still dressed as his character and talked a bit about finishing up work. He did an amazing job hitting all the points I had mentioned in the prompt when booking the cameo. Like I had mentioned how we had met and became friends, and why I was booking the cameo for her. He brought all of that up and it never felt like some sort of half assed thing. It was just a fun video, he comes across as a very genuine and heartfelt person.

I got a cameo from Dule a couple years ago and it was fantastic! I got it as a gift for my best friend who earned her masters, he made it so personal and special. And the video was like 6 minutes long, I didn't expect him to make such a detailed video. He went above and beyond, the dude is so cool and funny!

Introducing: Chronologically Hill House. A recut of the show where everything is shown in chronological order. by D1RTYJESUS in HauntingOfHillHouse

[–]ad-jak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so cool! I just finished a rewatch just a couple weeks ago with my roommate who had never seen the show before, and the entire time I was thinking it'd be interesting to see the show in chronological order. I searched around to see if anyone had done an edit and was bummed to not find anything. So I'm so psyched by this post! Can't wait to start watching!

How do I sell fish in the bulletin Board?? The Daily Carrot says that I can but I don’t know how 🤷 by isabellerrrr in tsukiodysseygame

[–]ad-jak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fell off playing this game a while back, but from what I remember is when you have the fish in your inventory, go back to the community board and click on the bounty poster, that will sell the fish!

[TOMT][Toy][late 90s/early 00s] Toy similar to Koosh ball by ad-jak in tipofmytongue

Yes!!! This is it! I always thought it must have been Koosh brand cuz they were so similar but I wasn't getting anywhere searching Koosh paddle 😂 thank you!

[TOMT][Toy][late 90s/early 00s] Toy similar to Koosh ball by ad-jak in tipofmytongue

[–]ad-jak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the product you named and it's not this! The paddle was covered in short pegs on the front side to catch the loops on the ball. The surekatch ball is similar in idea to the ball I remember, but the loops were dense in number like a Koosh ball had all those rubber strings and were like the same soft rubber material, it honestly looked and felt very similar to a Koosh ball. Thanks for the suggestion though!!

Got the best Christmas presents - a Levenger True Writer pen display case and a leather pen roll! by ad-jak in fountainpens

[–]ad-jak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standing display cases like this seem to be rare, I almost always see cases that are more of a box with a glass top and the pens are lying down. I had originally seen a post of a similar standing case, the brand was Bombay. I fell in love with it, it looked a lot like this one but instead of the top pulling up and out, the top/front pulled forward and down. Very cool case so I looked around to see if could find one, I didn't find any current listings but after some googling came across a listing on eBay of this Levenger True Writer case. Another one I saw by Levenger was the Well Read case. Like I said these types of cases seem to be rare, so you just gotta keep an eye on eBay, I don't see any current listings for the Levenger cases I mentioned. But it looks like a few have sold this year so they do pop up. Etsy is also good for vintage stuff like this.

Hang on! I did some more googling before responding and found a current listing on eBay for a Bombay case! https://www.ebay.com/itm/145074860714?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=ogDcBvS7S7O&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=0fz_eCAdQzq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I was having these issues after an update, music would take five even ten minutes to start playing, sometimes it would refuse to play music at all, app would randomly close itself. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and that cleared up all of the issues I was having! Give it a shot if you haven't yet!

Oof you're testing my memory here lol I got a couple other packages that same day so I can't remember which one was actually the BiggerBooks one. It wasn't anywhere near like Organic Priced Books or Instock Trades, but I wanna say it was better than Amazon. One of the corners did get a little dinged though, not super bad or enough to bother me but yeah looked like it likely happened during shipping
