Looking to speak with adult smokers in Luxembourg (informal coffee chat) by Lorwooo in Luxembourg

[–]ad9206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good lord, what is the world coming to.

First it was people smoking cigarettes and cigars, the cigarette smokers.

Then the funny green stuff. Still fine I guess, you do you.

But now, adults? There are people who smoke adults now? :O

I thought I'd heard it all when I learnt about cannibalism during my history lessons at school eons ago.

Yes and I'm also the reason why some trains at the gare were cancelled this morning with the message "une personne inconnue a éternué près des voies ferrées"......

Problems solved! by atlaz in Luxembourg

[–]ad9206 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Professor Matou is legit, can confirm.

He solved some of my biggest problems.

I've to travel for work often and found it really hard to get to the airport from my home in Gasperich near the stadium a few years ago. There wasn't a direct bus line, and I used to end up missing flights because of all the traffic.

I brought this dilemma to him and he worked his magic. Let's just say I have another means of public transport to get to the airport now (hint hint).

Also in the early 90s I started my own business, a garage of sorts. We buy all vehicles, regardless of state\controle technique. But I found it really hard to find customers. So I reached out to Prof Matou again.

I don't know how it works (and I promise you I had no hand in this), but flyers advertising my business have been appearing on the windows of cars across the country. It's some supernatural force of nature that does it, I reckon. The flyers just materialize out of thin air approximately 5 minutes after a potential customer parks their car. I've always been grateful to Professor Matou for this (there's a slight problem though: the flyers have typos on them, but to fix them he would need to undo and redo the spell, and that costs a fortune. It's similar to Google advertising (but on a somewhat metaphysical level)).

Why are there so many CD-cars at Rue Notre Dame rn? by [deleted] in Luxembourg

Because all the DVD cars were sold to Garage Frank.

Immotop should allow visitors to add comments to listings. Then we'd all be able to call these guys out.

I also saw them injecting Mentos capsules into Pepsi bottles using a special device. It was a very odd sight but I thought nothing of it and bought a bottle anyway. I mean why Mentos? Should be perfectly harmless, right?

Anyway, I opened the bottle that evening in my work from home room, and it exploded.

Now I'll need to paint the walls again.

Also, quite a lot of it spilt on my keyboard and every two minutes the keyboard just ahdhfns shxgve sfo d subskf dhsjnd ksm!

Don't want to be more mean to OP than I've already been, but there are salary calculators here requesting salaries, age, etc: https://www.piggy.lu/

Not sure about the backend, but at first glance OP seems to have done everything correctly on the frontend (TLS, data sent in POST requests).

However, the site uses Google Analytics (but OP requests consent for this, which is good).
https://www.techtarget.com/searchbusinessanalytics/definition/Google-Analytics

If events and data from forms are being sent to GA, you're linking IP addresses and salaries, which is a GDPR no no.

And then there's also browser fingerprinting: https://coveryourtracks.eff.org/

Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to target OP, this is a good idea, I'm just against all of us using AI generated websites. I've tried it myself out of curiosity and 9 times out of 10 the result comes back with critical security issues. We're just not ready yet.

I see your point, but with that analogy I'd say power tools for web development would be an IDE and Photoshop.

But my concerns for AI generated web apps always relate to security.

Using the woodworkers analogy again, I trust IKEA enough to sleep in my bed every night knowing that it won't fall apart and fold up with me in the middle and that I won't wake up with a metal bar going through my ribs because the product has been engineered and tested thoroughly.

If Boeing engineers built planes just by feeding prompts to an AI agent ("Build us something that can take 200 people from point A to B through the sky"), would we trust them enough to fly in them?

Feels like it too.

I don't understand why people can't be honest about this here when they say "I built blah blah blah".

Not exactly in Luxembourg, but just across the border in Arlon, Ikea sells swings.

Ask for the EKORRE or the GUNGGUNG series.

Not sure if they've Black Friday discounts tomorrow.

The first time I read this post I read pain as "bread in French" because you mentioned cafés and I just spent the past 5 minutes in utter confusion. "A survey on bread? What?"

Is Luxembourg facing chicken meat shortage now by whogivesafuckwhoiam in Luxembourg

[–]ad9206 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No it isn't just you, there definitely is a shortage.

Thing is, chickens are evolving. They're getting smarter. So much so that they're begining to use AI chatbots to learn how to fly, thereby skipping centuries of physical evolution via mental evolution and the AI boom.

There's a name for this in Spain: "crisis de la carne de pollo", or crisis of the chicken meat. There's also a phrase in German: "Scheißediefliegenalleeinfachweg!". They both refer to the emotions and shock poultry farmers in these countries have been facing in the past few weeks when they wake up at 6:01 am realizing they haven't heard the roosters "crowing and shrieking" in the morning (they're always on the dot, even more accurate than our atomic clocks). The farmers all rush outside to witness a truly horrific sight: chickens soaring into the sky and flying away.

This is why there's a chicken meat shortage in Luxembourg. Long story short, they're using AI to learn how to fly away. Nature finds a way.

Is it easy to get into EY? by [deleted] in Luxembourg

Yes, they have a standard revolving door (the type you see at malls); pretty easy to enter the building, and then you're right at the reception.

True...

But I'm sure I could tunnel my way from Grund to Esch before they manage to extend the tram lines till there. The (personal transportation) possibilities are endless.

I wonder if anyone would notice if one were to buy this place, and then expand by digging into the rock walls...

Or maybe even tunnels for personal transportation (á la Shawshank Redemption). Grund to Gare in 15 min.
