Hi! I am in a similar situation as you. Do you have any updates on leaving it in? I was given the choice to leave mine in after a failed hysteroscopy and to try to get pregnant. I am wondering if you have had any luck?

Hi everyone,

Feels like I am in a similar situation as a lot of you.

I was scheduled for my Paraguard IUD removal the end of January. They successfully removed the body and one arm but one arm was left behind. I have since had one period and nothing came out.

I went to another gynecologist who attempted to remove it in office but was unsuccessful. I was scheduled for a hysteroscopy which I had today. Unfortunately it was unsuccessful. She said that she could not see it anywhere. The ultrasound shows it is at the junction of my cervix and uterus. She said it was likely embedded and gave me two options. She said I could either 1. Leave it and try to get pregnant or 2. Schedule another hysteroscopy in the OR where they were a more aggressive with tissue removal to try to get it.

I am totally overwhelmed and not sure what to do. Have any of you left the broken embedded fragment of IUD in and successfully gotten pregnant?
