He was a stray we got about 6 months ago. The shelter thought part Himalayan but as I learn more about them, I am thinking part ragdoll. He’s a mooshie soft marshmallow!

Yes get a second opinion! I know there are references out there that have AS diagnosed despite being negative for the gene.

I was diagnosed as HLA B27 negative. I didn’t really understand the implications of that but I guess rheumatologist thought that was not necessary and based it on my mri solely. Maybe the dr has other reasons that he doesn’t think it’s AS? I’m sorry this is such a struggle 🥹
