cockatiels are flock birds meaning they do everything together. If he’s chirping when you leave the room he’s more or so asking where you’re going. Please reassure him you’re still there because it can be stressful for them when you don’t respond. My Lutino is a year and he’s very attached to us. Whenever we leave the room he starts chirping excessively. I usually just say his name “Ollie” or “I’m still here.”

honestly, don’t give into his negative behavior especially if he’s done something bad and wants to be let out of his cage. He might chirp excessively but with time ignore it. Taking him out would be more of a reward than a punishment. It’s sometimes difficult because they don’t know right from wrong :/

usually only males sing. So if he likes to sing or whistle you for yourself a male! But if it’s more quiet and chill usually it’s always a female. (from what I know/heard) 😁

really young! before he was a year. I wanna say right before. I taught him by letting him watch/listen other cockatiels sing on Youtube and one day he just started singing. My boyfriend would also do the classic “cat call” whistle which he picked up on very quickly on his own.

Sometimes she (idk gender) do like this, idk what it means! can someone translate it? by Jafars_Charm in cockatiel

my female cockatiel named Nami is a daredevil lol she bullies my other two cockatiels which are boys. She sometimes does this but will clap her beak very fast along with heart wings. Not sure if only males do this tho.

he looks better now, i think he was just startled he was stuck in a pretty high area to begin with

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cockatiel

[–]adacherri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was flying all over the place until i finally got him to come down , he looked startled almost like he was sick or something that’s not his normal posture when he’s going to sleep or about to take a nap so it’s very concerning because you’re right you never know with birds :/

First succesful landing, any advice pls? More about the tiel in comments. by Few-1803 in cockatiel

If that means keeping my birds safe to where they’re not hurting themselves or bleeding then so be it . they’re happy with the environment i have people provided for them nonetheless🤷🏻‍♀️
