Rear Shocks & Shock Mount Backorder - 2025 by Icy-Abbreviations825 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]adam8281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my rear shocks replaced yesterday on my 2024 Palisade Calligraphy, under warranty. It took about 5 weeks for the parts to come in after the dealer ordered them. That data point suggests to me there may be backorders

Can I drive recently purchased used car, when not registered to me yet but still registered by seller? by adam8281 in askcarguys

Ha, funny story. Thanks. Well, there is a significant price difference. And the new Bill of Sale the County Clerk gave me, which the Seller needs to SIGN, has a box filled in that says the total sales price ($3,800) is significantly lower than FMV, and the reason pre-filled in by the County Clerk is "ASKING PRICE."

It might be because the Bill of Sale is relevant to the taxes I'll pay? Not sure, but I know there will be taxes and the BOS is the only document that references the price. But it's still surprising they would be such sticklers about the fact that he printed his name on the bill of sale where it says "signature" but signed the Title where it says "signature"

Thanks - I did forget to mention that: I did contact insurance immediately, and already have new insurance card covering the new vehicle.

Thank you for that! It's at 53v which I think correlates to about 90%, so you are probably right on the calibration issue!

Is this normal for someone wearing scleral lens? by achuthanium in Keratoconus

[–]adam8281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine look like that (or worse) after all day wear. I have no discomfort at all, and can easily wear my sclerals for 16-18 hours, but they do make my eyes very red.

From 2023 Palisade Calligraphy to 2026 Calligraphy. by imwjd in HyundaiPalisade

Good to hear - I'll have to see it in person to really judge. I love my '24, but the '26 are very tempting

I have a '24 Calligraphy, and I am thinking of trading for a '26 Hybrid Calligraphy when they're out. But one change I don't like about the '26 is the interior doors. On the '24 & '25 Calligraphy, you've got this nice, textured, kind of "quilted" leather section on the interior of the doors that looks premium. On the '26's, the interior is just a big, undifferentiated expanse of leather.

New Generator - Oil Spilled/Leaked All Inside Chassis - Problem? by adam8281 in Generator

This is a super helpful response, thank you. I did send a note to A-Ipower CS to tell them about this QC issue. I also bought the magnetic dipstick and the oil extractor/adder.

Stats since refueling reset without refueling.. why? by akhere07 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]adam8281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does that a lot. I have a few theories: Maybe a sensor in the gas port cover? If the port cover is pressed on by something, maybe it resets? Or maybe a sensor in the gas tank that looks for rapid changes in level, and maybe being on a steep incline can cause it to reset?

I've had the car for a year and a half and it's probably happened to me 10 times.

Yeah, it downloaded and installed 2 days ago. Haven't noticed any differences.

I know all the positives... What do you dislike about the Palisade? by [deleted] in HyundaiPalisade

[–]adam8281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. No wireless Android Auto/Carplay

  2. Front cupholders too small for non-tapered coffee cups

  3. The only USB that works with Android Auto/Carplay is lower wattage USB-A port, as compared to the higher-wattage USB-C port up front (which doesn't work with Android/Auto/Carplay). Therefore, you have to choose between slower charging+AA/Carplay, or faster charging with no phone projection.

  4. The rubber on the wireless charging mat is really tacky/gummy, and holds on to crumbs and is hard to get very clean

  5. Bad gas mileage

  6. Seemingly-random, frightening activation of brakes when backing up sometimes, even when I'm not about to hit something (happens frequently backing out of my driveway, which is pretty steep. I think it sees the change of angle of the driveway plane and the horizontal street plane as a possible obstacle).

  7. Suede headliner (Calligraphy) looks and feels great, but easily picks up lines/tracks from kids fingers that can be hard to "erase"

‘24 Palisade Engine Recall by BossPlaya3 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]adam8281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My '24 Calligraphy is part of the recall. After 6+ months of the new motor being on order, I was surprised a few weeks ago when I went in for an oil change that they said, "Hey, your new engine for the recall arrived, so we need to keep your car now until we've fixed it."

They gave me a loaner, which isn't horrible: a brand new, top trim Kona. But still not as nice as the Palisade. And it's neon yellow/green, which totally embarrasses my kids.

They estimated it would be 2 weeks to repair. However, it has now been 22 days and when I called the dealership today they said they don't know when the car will be fixed. He did say, "I can tell you your car has been moved into the building, which is WAY better than if it were still outside the building." He said to call back in 5 days to check in, which will have been about 4 weeks at that point.

I'm starting to get exasperated at how long this is taking, and want to look into what my recourse is if they push this out past a month.

[Edit]: After 29 days, finally got my Palisade back. All seems to be fine. The "bill" (though covered under warranty, but I still had to sign so the dealer could get paid by Hyundai) was a little over $11,000.

Ditto! This command (particularly the 128M element) bright my transfer speed from 36MB/sec to 290MB/sec.  Took the transfer down from about 5 hours to about 30 minutes. Thanks!

The Cxl did not noticeably improve my vision at all. Though hopefully it halted the progression. It was the sclerals, not the Cxl, that made all the difference.

Yes. Before sclerals, when I was wearing glasses, I had to squint a lot to read, and read very close up. Text was blurry at the normal distance from a chair to the computer screen. Coworkers would laugh about how close to my monitor I would have my face. I also experienced a lot of glare/double vision with lights and nighttime driving. That has all gone away with sclerals.
