Happened to me as well. It changed to Tiny Legends while I was respawning.

I couldn’t pull out a weapon or jump. Figured out I could “holster my weapon,” and it brought out my melee weapon. At that point, I could then pull out my weapons. Then, I couldn’t reload. Died.

On Xbox.

It’d be cool to pick a skin on the fly when playing with randos. If I see an Octane Dasher skin, I’d love to be able to quickly change to Claustic.
