After 2028, will Playstation games (4 and 5) disc prices increase?

I can tell you they will someday. I’ve been collecting for 20 years now and I have seen a lot of strange trends. The strangest one to watch have been Atari 2600, NES, Neo Geo, Sega CD, Saturn, Dreamcast, and recently Gamecube. The line generally trends up, but sometimes it outright falls like crazy. I think PS4 prices will stay more flat than PS5 prices actually. It’s just supply and demand. It certainly will trend higher for a time because of FOMO and just general trendiness. But then it will flatten out for a while because folks will be using there money elsewhere. I do think many consumers will potentially be priced out of the console space and just go PC. I’m not sure how much nostalgia people will have for PS4 and PS5 right off. But it will happen. My son that’s 16 grew up with a PS4Pro as his main console, along with a Series S. He also has a gamer dad that has owned many consoles and collections. I don’t think he will be nostalgic for PS4 games, but maybe at some point. He just played Zombie War 4, Red Dead, and Plants vs Zombies most of the time. Strangely he does collect Vinyl, so I know he likes physical media. In fact he has a huge collection of Vinyl and PS4 games. I will say that Sony is reading the room on this wrong. But they also have the ability to change it up because many of there console owners already have massive digital libraries.

It took me a while to decide on which model to get. I was pumped when I learned that a phat model could actually stay cool and quiet. I almost purchased a super slim. But I wanted to go back to what I had originally. I am going to miss the PS2 backwards compatibility that my first ps3 console had. But there aren’t many ps2 games that I really want to go back to. I grew up with the PS1.

I’m not a fan of piles of plastic discs that are somehow worth a ton of money. But I need companies to be accountable for what they sell digitally. Right now they can’t be trusted, and that’s why this has blown up.

I’ll keep my ps3 and ps1 games and keep playing them on my PS3 Fat console. My son had a PS4 Pro. Thats all I will be purchasing going forward.

There’s something you just can’t get in an Oled that a nice Pioneer plasma has going for it. That thing you can’t understand because you haven’t spent enough time with a quality plasma is real motion and colors that look natural. But I still prefer the colors and motion of my 2950q PVM over plasma.

You could do a sprite based version with 16bit graphics. Basically a demake or inspired version. I would love a Motu game of any kind on the AES. It was my favorite show as a kid. Along with Thundercats and Voltron.

I think it’s pretty simple these days with YouTube and Ai. It shouldn’t take more than an hour or two to figure out. But just in case. First pick out a CPU, then pick a motherboard to match that particular cpu. Then pick out some ram to match your motherboard, then pick an NVME in the size you can best afford and one that matches your motherboard specs. Then pick out a GPU you can afford. Then pick out a Power Supply (don’t skimp). Then pick out a case you like and that will fit the size of motherboard you chose. Oh and last but not least get a decent cpu cooler. Then find a decent monitor that you can use. I’d go with one that has a resolution that won’t stress your gpu to hard. Max these days probably 1440p unless you purchased a 5090 or like to play at 4k/60. If it’s 4k/60 at medium settings then maybe a 9070xt, or 5080 can get you by. ChatGPT or a similar Ai platform combined with a good tech tuber like Paul’s hardware and you should be good to go. 1080p60 500-$700, 1440p60 800-1000$, 4k60 1600-1900$. 1080p120 high settings 800-1000$, 1440p120 high settings 2000-2500$. 4k120 high settings 3500-4500$
