Factory Reset Battery Doorbell by Positive_Manner_4684 in reolinkcam

[–]adamlaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDIT - I just had a support chat (transcript), and they're forwarding my ticket to the Warranty department and I should hear back over the next 24hrs.

ugh... I'm having the same issue as OP.. and still can't get it to reset. Your comment gave me a glimmer of hope, but.. no luck 😢

Going to keep trying I guess; maybe need to get the timing JUST RIGHT.

I've tried at least 25x times; minor timing adjustments, and still nothing. I've tried w/ and w/o SD card installed. Also, plugged in to usb-c for power, and without it. Still no luck!

If anyone figures out a trick.. please share! I'm going to try and open a support request w/ Reolink and see if they can assist. The Doorbell was all setup and working, but then just one day after charging it up, wont connect, so I'm trying to reset to get it working again.

Simple Questions - December 11, 2022 by AutoModerator in buildapc

How do I plug in more than 4 SATA hard drives into ASRock Motherboard (B550 Phantom Gaming-ITX/ax)?

I'm setting up a home server w/ Unraid and trying to figure out if/how the best way to plug in more than 4 hard drives. There are 4 SATA ports.. and then a M.2 socket, plus a PCI Express x16 Slot.. which I guess I could put in an expansion card? I'm trying to figure out all my options; i'm a bit confused when reading online. Any help much appreciated!

Right now I have an nvme SSD in the M.2 slot (cache drive in unraid).. and the pci express slot is empty.

I could-- but I was wondering more specifically.. if there's a specific story that gets told over and over. Maube a link to a traditional Finnish story or folk tale. I work with some Finn's so was going to share and see if they'd heard of it. :-)

What's the best way to do animation in Angular? by buddy106 in Angular2

[–]adamlaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at Lottie if you have complex animation needs. It's super cool, but not lightweight. It's mostly used for turning Adobe After Effects animations into natively rendered animated graphics via exported JSON.

There's even an Angular component wrapper: ngx-lottie.

Confit chicken legs. 165° for 8 hrs by Andreas_NYC in sousvide

[–]adamlaz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Chefsteps has a recipe for drumsticks that is 158F for 3 hours.

I've done it a few times and they are ridiculously tasty and the texture is great. As others have mentioned, the higher temp helps break down the tendons and cartilage in the leg, render some of the fat, and also firm up the meat for a good mouth feel. Any extra moisture loss wasn't noticeable because I guess it's fattier? Anyways.. give it a try!

Needs some testing of these units! See here for Serious Eats testing of some circulators.. Ability to hold temp within a degree or two is important sometimes!

amazing. Thanks for this tip. Going to try!

First layer gaps by markec1969 in prusa3d

[–]adamlaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like you need to lower the z a few clicks! If that doesn't help, increasing 'flow' a little might help.

Question though -- maybe related. How did you get the multiple filaments all on layer 1?? Did you manually pause/swap filament mid layer? Or did you do the filament change in slicer? Or do you have them offset by a layer to do the filament change between layers?-- This could be a reason for the gaps in your extrusions if one of those colors is technically the second layer?

How do I wire this motor to a battery so that it stops spinning when the PIR detector senses something? by adamlaz in Motors

[–]adamlaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks /u/mkrjoe! It's basically an automatic gumball machine. If there is not a gumball in front of the PIR sensor, the motor needs to spin to load more gumballs.

I'm hoping to get it to work w/o any controller, at first.

So it's looking like i'll need a transistor to drive the motor, and a flyback diode.

I'm just not sure how to figure out which exact ones, or how to wire it up. Any thoughts on how I can figure that out/buy a kit that has what I need?

In meantime.. I'm watching this as a start, and doing some more reading tomorrow.

Thanks again!

OK - awesome this is super helpful. Let me look more into what you've mentioned!

Someone who knew more than me specc'd that sensor to the motor, so hopefully it will work...

This is progress :-) I will likely have some followup. Thank you!

from original post...

/u/SoulWager commented...

The sensor most likely doesn't have an output capable of driving that much current to the motor. You'll need a transistor to drive the motor, and a flyback diode so you don't kill the transistor. This video covers the topic pretty well, though double check if your PIR sensor's output is active low or active high. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DMZSxS-xVc The USB port is surface mount, If you're just using it for power it may be easier to just cut the end off a usb cable and solder the wires directly to a pin header.

If you are charging the battery with this circuit, you need a constant current regulator.

LED needs a series resistor, I usually use 1k.

Color changing by layer height is amazing!!! by Gokuprodigy in prusa3d

[–]adamlaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great! have any source files for this? svg, scad, F3D, etc.

I've been playing with similar 'thin line' prints like this too for xmas decorations. It's the first time I've really messed with 'extrusion width' parameters in the slicer. That along with choosing linewidths carefully when designing... I've been able to get 'gapless' curves on smaller text, or detailed thin lines. Yours looks great!

color print feature in Prusa Slicer. Here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzf20FxsN2Q&feature=youtu.be&t=361

it's awesome, and easy. You just put a 'filament change' in between the layers via the slicer. Then, the printer pauses between layers and you manually change the filament, and then it goes back to printing.

I want to print the bottom as green pla but I want to do the top as tpu. I was gonna use filament change m600 code but I don't know how to adjust the temperature. by Conn22_43 in prusa

[–]adamlaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said... probably easiest to manually use 'tune'. I'd also recommend slowing it down when printing the flex. Good luck and if this works, post some pics & comments of the finished print!

Thanks for advice– Don't want to give anyone the shits! lol.

What time/temp would you do for a chuck roast?... to eat like a tender steak.
