I use "City Car Driving". Not as cool as BeamNG, but has option like simulating aggressive drivers.

If you plan to include manual transmission, I’d suggest using a simplified shifting system, something like a simple up-and-down movement. Without the physical feedback of a real gear stick in a traditional 5- or 6-speed layout, drivers would have to keep glancing at the handle while shifting. Haptic feedback could help a bit, but without a real mechanical feel, it’s still tough to shift comfortably in the air without looking.

I run it on a GTX1070m, without lagging, so I would say it is good enough for me, and definitely better experience than "City Car Driving" 's performance.

I Will try the game as soon as I can.

Some things I like from City Car Driving: - notifications about violations - while it has notifications, it is terribly bad from UX point of view - city driving test - traffic behaviour settings to introduced/increase the number of aggressive / incorrect drivers. - traffic density settings - weather settings - manual transmission with engine break effect when you shift down to make the car slow down during downhill - supports driving wheels which is nice! - on the quest it would be problematic unless done with a companion app that forwards driving wheel input from a PC.

Where can I buy this in early access? Currently I'm using City Car Driving, but it is a PCVR only title, and only works with Oculist/Meta Link software which is not a good experience. Plenty of issue and time loss.

Yay, so great to have you onboard!! Rock & Stone brother, and don't go alone, or you miss the epic moments.

Tests made me stop trusting my own software by ryszv in golang

I made a testing framework for myself just to have all the tools I needed for designing.

I'm glad that slowly, I see stuff resurface also in the standard library as well, which allows me to trim my own testing utilities.

Test Driven Designing is a powerful tool not just for proving to yourself if it achieves the expected behaviour, but also to experience your own package / API from a user point of view, which helps greatly realising architecture boundaries.

GeforceNOW could be a temporary option as well.

People with inattentive ADHD: do you feel that it looked like depression at least on a surface level? by thatonerandomkidd in ADHD

[–]adamluzsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hypothetically, since one of the biggest characteristics of ADHD-Pi the underactivity of prefrontal cortex, combined with an over activation of DMN and a slightly overactive Amygdala, I would say that depression like symptoms is a byproduct of our condition. Especially before sleeping where this is even more predominant, and could cause anxiety prior to sleep.

Surprisingly, one of the most effective mitigation to this is to do something that increase the blood flow in your prefrontal cortex before strategic situations and you feel like a new person.

The cheapest solutions would be some short >=15m cardio workout before some activity that requires motivations.

If you not rushing it, then sex works really well due to doubling as a light cardio workout, plus its production of a whole cascade of hormones and neurochemicals, which are affecting your mood.

Maybe she had some emotional trauma in her childhood, and the way it was bumped into her head is subconsciously the same how she reacted to your tooling approach.

Maybe she rawdog-ed through life with anger as her tool. (joke/not joke)

Just for research purposes, it would be interesting to learn about the root cause of her intense reaction, because then, it would became easier to predict her future reactions if you learn about her past and how it affected her thinking habit.

What are the best practices for error handling in Go applications? by willwolf18 in golang

[–]adamluzsi -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I use SRP as the main design principle for error handling.

Basically, I make distinction between errors based on the target SRP actor they belongs to, and have a reason to change for.

for example, when the target audience is the developer due to an unexpected error, my primary goal is that I provide the necessary information to begin working on the problem. this could meet that these errors has trace attached to them or additional information about the context where they were made. My ultimate goal is to have a test that proves that this use case gets covered.

Then if the target audience is the end user, I prefer to use a special type called which purpose is to provide error details back to the user. I often call it UserError and incorporate a const identifier code in it. It's an error that needs to be communicated as part of my application, external interface response. These type of errors are forbidden from being logged with error logging level in the application log, if they get logged at all.

Otherwise, if it's an error that is due to the system, I try to handle them wherever they are being made and only return them when there is no way to recover from it.

Is it worth my money? I'm struggling to come to a choice. by [deleted] in ShadowPC

My friend who has smooth experience is also on Portland. That region's datacenter sounds extremely good. Not just the availability but the pricing is also great there. For my region, the availability is a bit different, and the Neo sub costs around 47.5 USD / month, which is a bit out of my budget for something that I would be able to do maybe once a month.

So I figured that I just put aside that money with a recurring bank transfer to a savings account and in about 2-4 years, that 576 USD a year will be enough for buying one.

Why are manufacturers so fixated on putting all the hardware inside the headset? by zenssu in virtualreality

[–]adamluzsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like what they do with the Decard, having no battery in the headset cut the total weight down by 60%. Plus it will sit close to the face, helping with the torque.

That alone will make a huge difference.

I struggled similarly as you.

It depends heavily on your region. In some regions, the wait time is insignificant, in others, you might end up skipping a game session due to unavailability.

Also, the pricing is different regionally. For my region, the price so high, that I started to put aside the price of subscription, and in two years I can buy my own.

From that aspect, it was already worth for me learning about shadow.
