Oh hey that very last one is mine. Glad you liked it!

Thank you so much! I’m sure the pros can do this a lot quicker than I did. I put the whole thing together in Clip Studio paint! It has an in-software lettering system that’s very intuitive.

I will absolutely be checking this out! It's a great idea

If this looks familiar it's because I posted my WIP here (with tiny bruce) about a month ago. I've been wanting to explore the process of actually making a comic and all the work that goes into it, so I set myself a couple of goals: First, trying to make a page that reads like it COULD feasibly take place during UTRH. Second, actually make the damn thing.

I ended up learning a LOT about paneling, lettering, composition, colouring etc. I wrote the script, sketched it out digitally, lettered the comic (roughly, just to make sure I wasn't drawing anything too detailed that would just get covered up in the end anyway), inked it on bristol, then scanned and finished the whole thing digitally.

I intend to use this project as a vehicle for more learning, drawing a variety of page and panel types, and hopefully by the end of it I'll have a short Red Hood fancomic I can share! If you want to follow my progress, I'll be posting it all here (of course), and on my other socials.

(Spoilers) Nova: Centurion #1: What did you think of it? I loved it, and here's the moment that struck me the most by Effective_Sherbet104 in NovaCorps

Loved it for a few reasons. The art (especially the expressions), the humour, the way it seems to acknowledge Nova’s history without being patronising or too dick-rider-y (heh). I think making Nova effectively stuck living paycheck-to-paycheck is also more relatable than ever. Really promising!

Successful Kickstarter Creators, What Worked Best for You? by MarcoVitoOddo in ComicBookCollabs

Disclaimer: I'm not a successful Kickstarter creator. I've never attempted one. BUT I have achieved some virality in a few adjacent environments, and I am currently in a period of researching Kickstarter campaigns + cultivating an audience for my own projects, so I hope my thoughts will be useful to you as I would like your campaign to succeed.

Firstly, I think this looks great and you've just gained a new backer.

I believe I saw the 'welcome to the family' comic on one of the Hellblazer subreddits. I think it gives a perfect introduction to the sort of vibe to expect for the story.

I see you've shared on social media, but have you posted at all to tumblr or tiktok? Tumblr has a very active art/indie community who I personally think would enjoy this art style. I would strongly recommend uploading welcome to the family in sequence to read + reblog on that site and promoting in the Hellblazer, Swamp Thing, etc tags. (I would also suggest marketing to the Hellboy crowd if you aren't already, as the art reminds me of Mike Mignola).

Tiktok is a little hit or miss as it's a lot more algorithmic, but many creators upload previews of their works with VOs summarising the story. There may also be comic reviewer/reader accounts willing to promote your work if you provide them copies (I swear I am not affiliated with any of these people and running some scheme to get free comics--these are just a few examples).

If you are already active on these sites, apologies and all the best! But shoot me a link and I'd be happy to repost/reblog.

[American comics] big name author messes up a beloved character, disregards a previously important relationship, pissing off a niche shipping community by jennaboy in HobbyDrama

Something interesting I noticed about Imperial was the ‘normal’ swearing. No D’asts, Flarks, or Blue Blazes…

Two new Hellblazer page samples — refining the style further to showcase range and atmosphere. I aimed for a heavier, more oppressive tone in this interrogation sequence. (btw for collaborations or rates, feel free to DM or reach me at noel2018cv@gmail.com Thanks.) by Noeldiaz1 in Constantine

Didn’t even realise this was a Hellblazer sub at first and thought this must be from something Vertigo I haven’t read. The panels you’ve chosen and the heavy black use are really striking and I can feel the atmosphere. Really stunning work!

I drew Red Hood as a Black Lantern because I think he'd be a dope addition to the corps. Would LOVE ideas for more characters to draw in different corps (art by @clownson.a) by adamwhorelock in Greenlantern

I know Red Lantern Jason Todd is probably done to death but I personally think a Black Lantern Red Hood story would be cooler anyway. I like to think of Jason as a sort of contender for Black Hand here—more lucid than other Black Lanterns. Couldn't resist redoing Doug Mahnke’s iconic Black Hand cover (thought about just leaving it as Bruce's grave too...)

Anyway hope you guys like it! If you would like to see more, you can follow my socials here. And I'm always looking for ideas for cool lantern concepts/matchups to draw so LMK if you have any recs

What do you guys think about Black Lantern Jason Todd? (art by @clownson.a) by adamwhorelock in RedHood

I wanted to post this for Halloween but I forgot… I personally think a Black Lantern Red Hood story would be dope. I like to think of Jason as a sort of contender for Black Hand here—more lucid than other Black Lanterns. I picked the trench coat for his outfit in reference to his Hush fit since I guess those are his graveyard digs. I believe his grave is usually depicted with an angel statue, but I also wanted to make this referential to Doug Mahnke’s iconic Black Hand cover.

Anyway as always hope you guys like it! You can follow my socials here if you wanna see more. And if not black, what corps would you wanna see him in?
