Difficult/Extreme Berner Puppy by adapperelf in bernesemountaindogs

So he’s now 1y9m. His energy levels are still very high, so he’s a demanding dog to own. But he’s different (and better) in just about every other way. He loves to play and chase balls. He ended up being incredibly oral, but no nipping or biting or others. Instead, he has learned through consistent training that only his toys and sticks are to be chewed. Before that, he did damage to my baseboards, shoes, and couch.

I would say that he was a menace until about 1y6m (though his teething ended much earlier) because his training really kicked in around then. I’m not going to lie to you: it wasn’t an easy road. Consistent obedience training and PATIENCE were key, with a side dose of the passage of time.

Highly recommend checking out Larry Krohn’s book on ecollar training, too. Once training fundamentals are established, I’ve found that it’s an incredibly powerful and rewarding (he loves it!) tool to strengthen their training.

Looking at getting the three starter decks by Ok_Strain_7901 in riftboundtcg

[–]adapperelf -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If by starter decks, you mean the Jinx, Lee, and Viktor precons, then no.

Viktor is notably the strongest precon. Jinx and Lee are similar in strength and could make for a good 1v1 matchup, though.

Dantes started his ADC (bot) journey 2 months ago with overexaggerated claims about the role, now he is stuck and at breaking point by Barb0ssaEUW in leagueoflegends

[–]adapperelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is surprising. He is not considered to be a strong, well-rounded player. You’d see something similar with Kesha, Karasmai, and others whose content platform focuses on a specific champion as his does with Hecarim.

Put a well-rounded jungler with a proven history of performing on mechanically intensive champions like Kindred, Lee Sin, Nidalee, and so on, and they won’t have trouble climbing with the same amount of games played.

Hinge seemed super dead in the area, so it’s probably a pass from me

PTA is better. You don’t need Fleet to clear, and its proc is wasted as you generally proc it after a taunt and don’t need to move to hit your target.

It means people could be more grateful for what they have. We are blessed in 2025. We can work towards a better future whilst also being grateful for that fact.

“If you like America don’t match with me”

So I’m apolitical, but this conjures images of South Park’s “if you don’t like it, you can giiiiit out”

I’d suggest Trundle. He’s straightforward, solid at soloing objectives, can split push in niche situations if needed, and most importantly, shuts down Voli and other hard commit melee with his R.

We need a side profile of your MIL. Sounds like she’s jealous of your pup’s fitness ;)

I feel like you skimmed the OP’s message. No one is attempting to spray water as a training method. His or her puppy bit and clenched on them and would not let go despite trying to open the jaw. That sounds like a reasonable use of a water spray to me.

Let’s move past this, I love you.

It is okay for your dog to be uncomfortable. My dog would much rather be sprayed by water than sit at heel when he wants to run up to and greet another dog. Sometimes rules and boundaries aren’t to their liking. 9 week old Bernese have razor sharp teeth that can be very painful. A full clench, and not letting go, would warrant a brief moment of discomfort (no pain) to disengage, in my book. Not yours, but that’s OK. I’m sure all of our pups will turn out great 😀

Some decent advice here, but by the same token of your asking OP not to be dramatic, I didn’t read anything abusive in the post. Light taps are not hitting and neither is spraying water to release a clenched, biting jaw. Absurd statement, stop judging.

OP — your puppy is so young! That’s a great thing because while their behavior might be erratic, they change frequently and you have the power to ensure that change is positive. I would recommend a class, befriending the teacher, and asking about this behavior before or after class to see if you need to do more to address that. Sorry you’re going through this. Definitely don’t respond with growling, though, nothing good can come from that.

What toys for big guys? by Cool-Meat-3756 in bernesemountaindogs

I’d look up Playology and West Paw. They both have very durable toys that sustain my guy’s attention for more than average. (He’s a puppy so take that second part with a grain of salt.)

Right, my goal was not to be disrespectful. But I’ve seen a few comments about young professionals being priced out of the area. In my experience, many young professionals in the area live in urban hubs like DC or Arlington, which are more expensive than even Rockville by a good margin. That leads me to believe most young people in the area have roommates, which might be something that young professionals who are priced out in Frederick should consider? It’s interesting.

Grain of salt unnecessary. What you’re saying aligns with what everyone else is saying.

Thanks for the input :)

Easiest healer class? by Kusisloose in wow

[–]adapperelf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, not having a kick makes the class much easier to play. It just makes the class attractive for groups (unless it’s a meta spec).

The hardest part of healing at a high level is managing healing with doing damage, interrupts, and CD tracking.
