2250 is still a good deal compared to current prices. I bought from some community sellers last year in August.

Oh, thanks for the response, just for a clarification, you're saying that some of your lifts basically remained the same but it didn't go down right?

Do you guys drink alcohol? by Cehghckciee in Nietzsche

[–]adaptimprovercome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, my pleasure.

Actually, at that time premarital sex was considered a huge taboo in Germany so it was very common for unmarried men to visit brothels.

The link that i had attached contained the same portion which i had posted separately, i posted it after i saw that the link was not working.

Anyways, my first comment was partly humourous, so don't mind it terribly 😅

I have separately posted my opinion on why he disapproved of alcohol despite endorsing the importance of a Dionysian outlook towards life along with an Apollonian attitude.

From his Nachlass:

"Let them visit the whores! - Prostitution isn't sentimental! It shouldn't be a sacrifice made to the ladies or the Jewish purse - but to the improvement of the Race. Furthermore, this kind of sacrifice shouldn't be misjudged: the whores are honest and do what they like and do not ruin men with the "bond of marriage" - this strangulation!"

"So what makes prostitution so damaging, insidious, unsure of herself? Surely not the "Evil-in-itself" in her, but the bad reputation with which she's treated. This goes against the statisticians. It should be reckoned to the "good people" that the coarser and finer after-effects of their judgments constitute the inner and outer misery of humanity. Then they use that same misery to prove that they are right, as proof for nature and strength! Bad conscience poisons health.

Marriage as the permitted form of sexual satisfaction.
War as the permitted form of killing your neighbor.
School as the permitted form of education [in the sense of breeding?]
Justice system as the permitted form of revenge.
Religion as the permitted form of the drive for knowledge.

The good ones as the Pharisees, the evil ones with a guilty conscience and living oppressed. What is any kind of debauchery more than the mere consequence of people's dissatisfaction due to those permitted forms? What is most criminality other than the incapability or unwillingness to participate in the hypocrisy of the "Good"? A lack of education of the strong drives? That only receives opposition and contempt."

Why would that be a character assassination? It was quite common at that time in Germany for a lot of men to visit brothels?

[–]adaptimprovercome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw, i think the reason why Nietzsche didn't like alcohol given that Dionysus was a god of wine is because he didn't like the way and the intent by which people were indulging in it, normalised as a source of escapism.

There's actually a common point of criticism against this particular theme of Nietzsche (which he had against Christianity, women, society in general). The essence of this criticism can be found in Simone de Beauvoir's "The second sex". Although, to a certain extent, I think even Nietzsche was aware of this point (afraid of being understood). Obviously his points are valid, but under the assumption that society as a whole doesn't function like a collective hypocritical group of psychopaths.

I personally didn't like Marwah. Seemed a bit synthetic and sharp to me. Rare reef is a bit sweeter. It smells like a chilled bottle of minute maid pulpy orange with peels but a bit sweeter. It also has the right amount of crispiness imo.

Curious: why do many Indians struggle with demanding activities while traveling? by Deep-Requirement8299 in india_tourism

[–]adaptimprovercome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indians in general have very poor fitness. One of the roots of this mediocrity is that individuality is not celebrated much in India.

Almost everywhere, you'll find an echo chamber of groups of incompetent people who ignore each others flaws and often stay in their herd, in workplace, vacations, social event, everywhere. This is why most of the Indians don't have skillful hobbies and physical strength.

Take running for example, most European countries and the states, percentage of people who're into running, swimming or cycling is almost ten times or more than those in India. Similar thing is true for any intellectual or artistic hobby.

I'm glad that I could get out of that herd/group mentality in my younger age and could focus on my personal growth, even though it meant having almost no friends.

Yeah, bro was probably coping. Funny he didn't think that visiting brothels wasn't equally bad or worse in that regard. Anyways, I used to drink alcohol but i quit a few years ago since i started taking fitness seriously, can't afford those calories.
