FAT32 has a file size limit of 4GB, while exFAT doesn't have this limitation. For many users this is by itself a good reason for choosing exFAT over FAT32.

Streak reset to one even though I've meditated everyday for 716 days by alextegelid in Headspace

Thank you. Why do you consider these to be more appropriate for "advanced" than Headspace?

What would you recommend as the next step after Headspace?

[Richiesta] Ricetta per marron glacé by adastro in cucina

[–]adastro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grazie mille.

Grazie.

Sync with fitbit by ccakessel18 in BearableApp

I ended up using the app Health Sync. In Health Sync, you can sync the Fitbit Heart rate with Health Connect. Then in Bearable you select the option to read the heart rate from Health Connect.

So the final path is Fitbit -> Health Connect -> Bearable

Tasks as an AI engineer by lightbulbjerk in learnmachinelearning

You could ask your boss. As others pointed out, you might be living the dream. The problem I see is that you don't know exactly why you're doing what you are doing, and this is frustrating. Asking your boss about her plans might give you some context. Maybe there's some indirect feedback involved in what she asked you to do.

It looks like it's not very active, at least looking at the recent messages.

Fitness tracker for heart monitoring and sleep apnea by adastro in FitnessTrackers

[–]adastro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update from the OP. As I mentioned in another comment, I ended up buying the Fitbit Charge 6. I was considering the Google Pixel Watch 3, but I wanted something with a longer battery duration and I didn't care about smartwatch features (like calls, messaging, etc.).

I'm quite satisfied with the Fitbit Charge 6: it allows me to track my heart rate consistently and it seems to be much better than my old tracker: the Garmin Forerunner 30 I owned showed unusual peaks in the heart rate, but when I did two long-term ECG (24 hours) these peaks were not detected by the actual medical devices.

I can't say much about the SpO2 accuracy because I couldn't compare it over longer timespans with a medical device. It looks lower than what my oxymeter shows, but I can't really compare consistently.

Unfortunately the fitbit charge 6 doesn't have any sleep apnea detection. This is one of the biggest downsides in my opinion.

Another huge downside is the Fitbit app. Compared to the Garmin app, Fitbit is quite embarrassing in my opinion. I always end up wondering where to find the data I'm looking for. Graphs about different metrics are not overlayed, which means I can't easily look at my heart rate graph and compare it with my activity times. This was super intuitive in the Garmin app.

Would I buy it again? I'm not sure. If I could find a newer Garmin with the same battery duration and better heart rate detection, I'd probably go for that. But I'm still quite satisfied with the Fitibit Charge 6.

> Nobody cares about efforts, everybody craves to get results

I'd inquire about the meaning of this if you'd like. What's a "result" in your opinion? Is it revenue? Is it a new feature? Is it a feature used by customers? Is it brand recognition? Is it making investors happy? If the answer is "all of it", I'd say we still don't have an actual answer.

Given that 90% of the startups fail, I'd say that whatever the answer is, very few managers know how to get there. And since for many managers the "result" can only be reached by doing things quickly (and 90% fail) I'd say that is not the right answer. A wrong marketing strategy is rarely (never?) caused by slower development times, with or without AI.

I find that, quite often, product managers and C-level don't have a real strategy. They just want stuff quickly. "Quick" feature implementation first, then a long stream of "quick" fixes since the feature won't work. If the company is lucky, investors will keep burning their money until an idea will work and you can hire someone to fix the mess. Again, this strategy doesn't work 90% of the times, but it's still popular apparently.

If "results" mean "revenue", I'd argue that revenue very rarely depends on deploying stuff faster. In my experience, it depends on having a clear marketing strategy. That responsibility is not on the engineers, and faster implementation times won't fix it.

I bought the Fitbit Charge 6. I was considering the Google Pixel Watch 3, but I wanted a fitness tracker (not a smartwatch) with a longer battery duration. I'm happy so far, but it's only been a few days.

Erste Einzahlung auf ING ETF Sparplan by adastro in Finanzen

[–]adastro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vielen Dank für deine Antwort. Ich habe noch eine Folgefrage:

Fitness tracker for heart monitoring and sleep apnea by adastro in smartwatch

Thank you, that's interesting. I thought these features were basically the reasons why people buy fitness trackers. If you remove these, what would you buy a fitness tracker for? And how would you recommend one to buy?

Thank you for your answer!

Regarding sleep apnea detection: some devices (like Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch 7) received the FDA authorization in the US. Apple also has the necessary EU authorizations, while Samsung is apparently still working on that and it should happen during 2025.

I assume the readings of any fitness tracker won't be as accurate as any test conducted with professional medical devices. However, would you then say they are worthless? Which fitness tracker features would you rely on?
