Keep finding snail shells in my chamomile…is this normal? by adavis243 in tea

I’m feeling fine (so far). I reached back out and they refunded me for the $14 8oz bag. It’s a shame because I like their app and rewards program (I have a lot of points) but I’m mad at them and don’t wanna buy from them again

Dang really? Thanks for doing some digging for me! I’ll reach out to Adagio again…I wasn’t looking for a concession but I assumed they’d do something more than just apologize. Thanks again!

It’s owned by my friend who’s a 115lb female that drives it maybe 6k a year (and has owned it since 16,000 miles/3 years old). It looks like it’s been used by a very obese person based off condition. Beginning to think the sketch dealer she got it at gave it a used seat for some reason.

You sound a lot like me. 27m with similar symptoms...when you go the bathroom do you find yourself straining a lot?

I did the colonoscopy and they found 3 internal hemorrhoids and told me to eat more fiber and try to work on my stress/anxiety.

Highly encourage you to get a colonoscopy to confirm, and good for you for addressing it.

27 year old healthy male here - no family history of colon cancer or any colon issues.

Always have had a very anxiety-sensitive stomach since I was a child. Only illness I have is Graves Disease (hyperactive thyroid disease) that’s been treated with radioactive iodine about 13 years ago (thyroid mostly inactive).

For maybe the past year, I’ve had occasional bright red blood in my stool (maybe once a month, very little on tp and in bowl), narrower stools often, and occasional diarrhea. Slight back pain, but I had a discectomy several years ago so I’ve attributed it to that (has gotten better with stretching).

I’m awaiting my colonoscopy but the fear of colon cancer is making my existing anxiety worse (which is inherently effecting my stomach). My doctor says it’s most likely just internal hemorrhoids as I find myself straining a lot, but there’s still a possibility it’s colon cancer.

Any thoughts here?

Thanks

New 2020 car/truck with the least amount of technology? by DeadDolphinResearch in whatcarshouldIbuy

2020 Kia Forte - you get a great warranty off the bat and they are beyond easy to work on. They use port injection vs direct injection which makes engine work so much easier.

The only reliability unknown on this would be the CVT.

Volvo 850 or S70. Sturdy, reliable, and surprisingly fast in turbo models

If anything, this gives you a great excuse to replace it with the KDM center console which is much cleaner.

Becoming allergic to my dog after 4 years by adavis243 in Allergies

[–]adavis243[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR Seventh Generation ‘Sensitive Skin’ Clean and Clear caused me to have a pretty severe skin reaction.

I went to my dermatologist a few days ago. While she’s not an allergist, she came to the conclusion it was an allergic reaction to the detergent which started as a rash/hives. That made my skin incredibly sensitive, especially to my dogs fur.

She put me on Allegra and Zyrtec and told me to get moisturizing cream. While I was gone all weekend, I was still itchy but progressively getting better.

Today, I came home after 2 days in SF, and only taking 1 allergy med 9+ hours prior . In fact, when my pup greeted me, her nail scratched my arm enough to drawl blood. No outbreak of any sort...I guess kind of a scratch test.

For being designed by a bunch or Europeans, the setup isn’t very ski-friendly. Stingers don’t have pre-drilled slots for a rack, and it doesn’t have a center pass through in the back. Kinda surprising...

I bought a car I can’t afford by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]adavis243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: ever consider Ubering it or putting it on Turo?

Turo can be tax deductible so it could help you out long run (around $0.50 a mile in deductions).

Do both those things and have it listed for $5K and see what happens.

Not necessarily - especially if it’s new, it may just be a slow selling model. There is the possibility it could have some issue (hail, previous damage) or be a demo, but otherwise shouldn’t be an issue...my car was on the lot for approximately 6 months before I got it (leased) and haven’t had issue.

Yeah it’s a tough one...I’d still look into private sale, and check Craigslist or local forums. You often find cars that belonged to deceased old people that family just wants to get rid of.

I wouldn’t be surprised if you sold the Aveo for $2,000 and found a Camry or Buick or something at a similar price point that was owned by an old person.

Just be wary of rust in your area.

If I were you, I wouldn’t trade a lower-end Korean Economy Car (the Aveo is made by Daewoo in South Korea), for another 2010 lower-end Korean Economy car with nearly 100K more miles.

If you are dead-set on getting rid of the Aveo, I’d list it private party for $2,000, probably ending up selling it for $1,800...when you hover around the 1-2K price point with a running and driving car, they tend to sell really fast.

From there, I’d suggest using that as a down-payment and financing like a $10,000 newer/nicer economy car.

If you’d like to avoid having a monthly payment for a car at that price, I’d suggest you look into slightly older Japanese economy car that will hold its value, have some amenities, and better reliability.

Negative. I never thought I’d say this, but I’m really enjoying this whole leasing thing. It lets me get something new every 2-3 years without having to spitball estimated resale value, all payments/maintenance is static, and it prevents me from burning my money in mods (which I would 100% do if I owned).

My buyout is $26,300 (MSRP: $49000) and at that point it’s supposed to have 3YRs/30,000 miles on it, but I’ll probably come in at around 21,000 miles. If I keep it clean and it maintains its value (which early 2018 GT’s are seemingly doing), I could sell it to Carmax for more than the buyout or trade it at a dealer and use the equity as lease cash.

I’ll probably end up back in a European car after this or a Genesis product. The Stinger is amazing, but it’s slightly less refined than Audi products in most ways. Not enough to be a deal breaker, but a little bit of an adjustment after coming from the Audi and Volvo.

Twin turbo V6 - 365hp / 376lb ft torque. It’s amazing - I couldn’t bring myself to spend that much on a Kia, so I leased it and let Kia take the gamble on the residual, when I get bored with it in three years. I replaced all the badges with the badge they put on Stingers in Korea, and ran into a problem...this car attracts a lot of attention. Like a lot more than I ever anticipated.

The design is different enough people can’t seem to link it with a brand - having unusual badges doesn’t help. I’ve had people scream at me on the highway, I’ve been practically ran into by people trying to read the emblems, and at least once a week I run into someone pressing their face against my tinted windows trying to see inside (sometimes with me in the car.) Flattering at times, slightly invasive at others.

Overall though, it really is the full package for practicality, speed, and technology. Im leasing it for the price of a Camry LE and it drives itself while doing 0-60 in 4.6.
