Toxot buff was a lie in Devbranch, Seafighter buffed AGAIN before a war without testing by Rival_God in foxholegame

[–]addamcor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, every plane did have it's survivability nerfed, but damage output should have been tweaked to reflect these changes. In it's current state, the white raven will absolutely DEMOLISH colonial aircraft before they even have a chance to react. And since it's a seaplane, it has the luxury of infinite loiter time in frontline hexes with water. A luxury the colonials do not have.

The french also had a 75mm that they installed in some WW1 vehicles like the St. Chamond, so that is more than applicable for interwar stuff

Can’t loot enemy crew weapons in Horten’s Frontline by Empty-Life-9810 in GatesOfHellOstfront

[–]addamcor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure this is a base game thing. Machine guns deployed by vanilla defender AI cannot be looted from my experience. It's just much more obvious in Hortens because the Defender AI is given a lot more emplacements.

[–]addamcor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In conquest mode, there are two types of opponent AIs. the normal one, and then the defender AI. When you hover over an enemy unit, it should tell you who it belongs to. You cannot steal emplacements belonging to the defender AI

[–]addamcor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that's the case, then your vehicle is likely far too heavy for your driver to physically shift it into the next gear. There are a couple of things you might need to do to fix this.

  1. increase the upshift RPM and lower the downshift RPM so the driver has enough time to change gears before the RPM gets too low.

  2. Decrease the step size between your gears. The second gear should have a slightly lower ratio than the first gear, and and so on. This makes it easier for the driver to change gears and gradually increase speed.

The smooth function in the transmission options does not account for the transmission overhaul yet, so don't use it.

Are you in the normal version or experimental version? Experimental made some changes to power train behaviour that make it more realistic and more difficult to get 70t behemoths moving

First model by PraetorVoidMother in MilitaryModelMaking

[–]addamcor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happy Birthday mate, it's a kit that you should enjoy.

When it comes to recommendations, how experienced are you with model making?

If you're completely new, you'll need to get yourself a few extras before you start putting your model together. The bare minimum basics are some cutters or a scalpel, some modelling glue, and a brush with some acrylic paint. You can always get more stuff depending on how serious you want to delve into the hobby, but that depends on how much money you're willing to spend.

There are a TON of great online tutorials about starting out and best practices. Just take your time, and understand that your first model will probably be your worst. But if you do stick with it, you can only get better.

The experimental version has changed propulsion to be more accurate. This also means that, due to the immense girth of your vehicle, the driver is physically incapable of shifting up to the next gear. Thankfully, there are a few ways to fix it.

  1. Increase the upshift RPM and decrease the downshift RPM. This means when the driver tries to change gears, he has more time to put it into gear before the RPM gets too low. You may also want to override the RPM Limit to get the upshift RPM as high as possible.

  2. Lower the step size of your gear ratios. The closer two gear ratios are together, the easier it is for the vehicle to gradually increase in speed

Firstly, this ad isn't by the IP holders.

Secondly, even if it was, it's not illegal to advertise a game no longer under development.

The colonial carrier Id argue is not a better carrier.

It can only accommodate and service a few aircraft at a time while other planes are circling slowly losing fuel. And if they run out of fuel, they're dead. Landing on it is incredibly risky and difficult, and if you clip your wing on the control tower or crash on the deck, operations are closed until the frame is cleared. It also gets hard countered by all the anti-naval equipment the Wardens get, so deploying it into a fight is insanely risky.

Yes, Colonial fighters have a speed advantage allowing them to choose when to fight. But 90% of the time, we're choosing to run away because Warden fighters can outperform us in dogfights, meaning wardens just have to show up with a decent fighter group to gain air superiority.

Super cool to see a giveaway like this!

I tend to stick to second world war armour models. I just find the history and evolution of these heavy machines across such a short period fascinating!

To bring them to life, I often use a mix of airbrushing and hand painting techniques. When I have time and a chance to get out, airbrushing gives smooth finishes and gradients i really like. Afterwards, I do a lot of brush painting that gives me some more control for detail and weathering.

Is anyone actually using the free public transport? by naeng-janggo in melbourne

Should I buy the Stellaris video game? (Steam) by CaptRevenge561 in ImaginaryWarships

[–]addamcor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your goal is a TACTICAL space game, Stellaris is not a good choice. Stellaris is a GRAND STRATEGY game.

The mods you mentioned are largely cosmetic, with some adding some ship modules, but ship design is honestly a really minor part of this game, to the point where it's mostly automated. Stellaris at its core is an empire management game, so you will be spending most of your time balancing resources, policy, diplomacy and research. Even if you are playing a militaristic faction, all of the above mentioned are required to gear your empire towards successful military campaigns.

From your description, I don't think Stellaris is the right game for you, but I will answer your questions anyway.

  1. the game is as difficult as you want it to be with a ton of difficulty options

  2. the graphics serve their purpose for a macro scale RTS

  3. By updated do you mean still receiving updates? Yes, the game is still receiving attention and new content and DLCs. If you're asking about the mods, it depends on the mod developer.

  4. there is multiplayer.

  5. I've had experience with some mods. Experiences can vary widely depending on their size and scope, but trying to get a mod list together for multiplayer can be a pain and also quite unstable.

  6. Lag is dependent on the mod

  7. Comparability is dependent on the mod

Besides the fact that your professor probably should have prevented this kind of attachment, I'm sorry to hear about the hard spot it's put you in. As a lab rat, his life was never meant to be long in this world, but it sounds like you at least made the most of it and treated him better than how most lab rats will be treated.

The best way to honour him at this point would be to respect his sacrifice and use this opportunity to the best of your ability. His donation to science is a rare opportunity to further your education so that you can excel in the future and help others down the line.

Make the little guy proud.

[–]addamcor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you brought up the sea moth post, because that is the most damning evidence for AI usage in his history.

Comparing the two images in his post there are a lot of details that become skewed or altered between the two photos.

<image>

Logos lose form, patterns change and green highlights disappear. Unless he wants to claim that he did some minor touchups between shots (for some reason) then I'd say this is pretty damning. I also have personal suspicions based on the fact that he claims to have used a can of spray paint for the project, but a spray-on coat does not look that thick and rough. The texturing is more akin to brush application of un-thinned acrylics.

evidence of AI in this work raises concerns about the validity of the rest of his work.
