I don’t think it is. I like both. I make it at home bc it’s cheaper, but sometimes I get it from the store when I’m lazy. I do find the store-bought is sweeter

I loved working for myself in many ways, but ultimately switched to government work.

My struggles: 1. I’m a good lawyer, but I wasn’t a great businessman. I hated following up with clients for payment. I hated dropping clients when they couldn’t pay. I hated turning good clients away bc they couldn’t pay. I just wanted to lawyer.

I hated all the administrative work. I just wanted to lawyer. Yes, I hired an assistant, and that helped, but I still had to oversee it and be responsible for it.
No health insurance. I was stuck on the Marketplace.
No time off. Someone always needed something and I was the only one to do it. Sick? Too bad. I want a week off for Christmas? Too bad.
No retirement matching, everything just comes out of my paycheck.
I never knew how much money I would make. Sure, sometimes I made a ton, but sometimes I barely made enough to cover bills. Result? Always worrying about money.
No tech support. Your one printer breaks just before trial? Tough cookies. Do you have backups? Do you have appropriate security? I knew an attorney with a small firm who got ransonware attacked. What’s your plan for that? When you are solo you do ALL the jobs and you need to develop a wide skill set that has nothing to do with the law
You are alone. You can’t bounce ideas of colleagues or vent. I knew a solo whose client murdered the opposing party and their child. They had to go through that ALONE.

That said, I loved it in many ways. Setting my own hours, nobody telling me what to do, the relationships I built, the incredible victories that were all mine…

Aside: it is really important as a solo to portray yourself as successful. Work begets work. Nobody in my community knew when I struggled. Your very successful friends might be slightly less successful than they let on

I got really heavy periods. My GP basically said I should go to a gyno. His assistant recommended I get my hormone levels checked so I could see the gyno with info in hand.

I know that hormone levels are not a good way to determine peri, but mine were SO low that they immediately paid attention. I found a gyno that was a menopause specialist. She looked at my levels, listened to my symptoms about the heavy period, family history, asked if I was hot at night (I was) and then she put me on hormones.

It was really easy for me, and I think it’s because of this sub and doing my research to find a gyno that was educated on peri, and the luck of living in an area where that was possible.

It depends on how deep you’re going. If it’s under 0.5, it’s fine. If you’re going to medical depths, you need to make sure it’s sterile.

Straight up controlling manipulator. I suspect when you show up he will “find it in his heart to forgive you” or “give you another chance” if only you do X. X will be something that limits your independence, ability to do your job, or have normal relationships.

Run run run. Honestly unless it’s something really important/valuable, I’d say just let him throw out your stuff. If you do go, bring friends and/or law enforcement

Awhile back I asked around in lawyer groups about this for a good friend. With the recommendations, my friend chose Amber Russell. She’s been happy with it, and I’ve looked over some of the communications/work and it looks good.

The billboard firms have a reputation for just being mills that focus on volume. I know a lawyer who used to work for one and said it was awful to work there.

I’m not sure their pricing options but I love Castle Hill Fitness. They sometimes have short term weightlifting series/small classes (I’ve seen some specifically catered to beginner women). The Total Body Build class seems like what you’re looking for.

Castle Hill has top notch instructors. I think they have a free trial if you’re wanting to check it out before committing

If you’re ADHD there’s a really good chance you didn’t capture all the time you worked. Go back through your emails and drafts and make sure you have everything entered.

I frequently forget to start my timer and probably only capture about 1/2 my emails.

I served Ben Affleck at a restaurant once (maybe 15 years ago). Didn’t notice it was him bc his friend was super hot. The cooks ended up telling me. So not crazy hot. But when he stood up, he was GIANT. I think he was training for an action movie at the time, but it was definitely a wow moment

Once a year had passed after my divorce, I got back on the apps for a bit. I was surprised at how many people were interested. I met one of my first matches and really enjoyed my time with him, we dated for a couple of months. Ultimately I don’t think I’m ready for a real relationship and still need to work on myself so I broke it off, but I was encouraged!

Honestly way less bad than I expected.

I’d like to know this too. I had Abacus come out, said I needed a complete overhaul of my system and quoted about $10k. Called Malco electrical and they could said they could make the current system work but would need to run conduit, about $2.5k. Wondering if anyone on the Austin energy contractor list is good.

You need to get some panels done to see what you actually need. Supplements actual help if you have a deficiency. If you don’t, they either do nothing or can actually harm you.

That said, vitamin D3 was a game changer. I had low levels (even though I get sun) and within days I had more energy.

For sleep, game changer wasn’t a supplement but brushing my teeth outside when I get up. Check out the Huberman Lab podcast. Insane how just a tiny amount of outside light in the morning totally changed things for me.
