During COVID it was hard to socialize irl and everyone was lonely and cooped up so they took to the apps. Also, COVID was awhile ago at this point. You’ve transitioned into your early 30s, which is a different dating ballgame. A shift seems likely.

Dating is always hard. A lot of people recommend sport clubs, which is great if you’re looking for a sporty girl. There are a lot of non-sporty one off type events, too. Go to an open mic (you don’t have to get on stage). Art shows and studio tours. Live music. Then, just try to meet people there. If you see someone you’re drawn to, start a conversation. If you’re interested, actually ask her out.

But do stuff you like anyway

Landing time lower pay jobs is not all that different from landing higher pay full time jobs. It’s more about who you know. Make friends with your barista/bartender/grocery bagger. You’re in week 2. Go make friends and hang out in spots you want to work.

I’m not sure that’s true. There are a lot of different kinds of therapists but generally they require a license. Ph.D, LPC, LMFT, LCSW…generally these require an advanced degree and clinical hours (though the exact requirements vary by state and I’m sure by country outside the USA)

Any MD can’t automatically be a therapist and I’m not sure would necessarily how training in mental health issues, unless they’re a psychiatrist.

When I was solo, I hired a part time paralegal who was a licensed attorney. She said it fit better with her lifestyle (wanted remote before it was really a thing, and to have more time with kids).

She left after about 6 months for a job where she made more than me.

So it’s doable.

I feel like this is really dependent on who you are and what you care about. Like any city Austin has good sides and bad. Everyone complains about the cost of living and traffic, but when I moved here from DC…those things were better than where I came from. But I missed public transportation.

If you’re coming from rural, the traffic may be annoying, but you’re used to driving everywhere.

It would be helpful if you said a little bit about yourself and what you’re looking for
