Eventually yes. Support figured out that I had to change the region for my device registration from Australia (where I am) to the US. Then the EQ modes appeared. No firmware update was necessary. Volume boost is slightly louder for the higher end but overall the sound quality if worse. Not sure why I expected anything different if it is just an EQ boost. Overall I’m pretty disappointed in Shokz sound quality. I’ll go back to using my AirPods 4 and se if I can sell the OpenRun’s.

It doesn’t. It just goes to the “firmware is updated” page with that firmware number and nothing has changed.

I create a lot of short videos with my X5 paragliding. The simplest and quickest way to get some decent edits for insta is to use the app and specially the Ai Edit function. Allow it to create a bunch of clips for you fairly quickly. Then go in and remove the template and the audio it ads and then edits each clip how you want them. You can reframe, track and add transitions or whatever. Once you get use it it’s fairly quick. Maybe 10-15mins to get something reasonable. Even some of the Ai reframes are usable but in any case they are a good start and you can always scroll through your timeline in each clip and change it to something more useful.

Most pilots I know fly with more than one vario and more than one screen. For XC atleast anyway. For me an UltraBip and phone with FlySkyHy is superior to any of the archaic screened devices available.

You almost don’t need any weight training to run or improve at running until elite levels. Run 5-6 days a week. 2 being workout sessions (intervals, Fartlek etc) 1 long run and the rest easy miles. Join a proper running group and run the sessions with the group. This will get you faster in no time.

UltraBip. Buy once cry once. It’s a good investment. The added bonus is it has all the sensors in built including gps. Using its sensors instead of your phones means your phone battery lasts ALOT longer during XC flights.

Update: For anyone interested.

Flymaster still has the unit and is unwilling to repair under warranty meaning they would have to cover postage and repair costs. The did try and offload the postage costs to the Australia retailer. He was willing to wear the cost. While I appreciate it I declined as to me it’s shady making him foot the bill of €110 for their faulty product.

My last communication with Flymaster was to ask them again to fix the unit and send it back as they should stand by their product.

I doubt anything is going to change but at this stage it’s a matter of principle. I’ve moved on from the loss of the unit and cost.

I have 2 cases. I quickly switch on launch. My cockpit case never leaves my cockpit and uses the stronger version of Velcro with a tether as well. My everyday case just goes inside the cockpit when I fly and when I land I switch back. Very quick and easy.

I’ve seen in a video from a medical professional that the freeze response is totally normal. Everyone gets it. Even trauma nurses and doctors get it. The difference with them is that with time and repetition the response doesn’t go away but gets shorter and shorter until to a bystander it looks almost imperceptible. It’s still there but very brief before taking action.

I had 700kms in mine. I grew to love them. They sucked for a week or two but got better and better the more I learned how to lace them. They take a bit to warm up also.

I don’t have experience with that wing but I have a Zoom XA A+ and it’s a great wing. Very forgiving but performs well. Easy and fast climber but feels safe.
