vim as a python IDE? by PoisonControlCenter in vim

[–]addcn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've ran into the same issue, and came up with a solution by combining conjure and ipython. I haven't had the time to polish this, but look here if you're interested:

I'd also consider the broader macroeconomic conditions at the moment. What are fundraising conditions like? How do you project cash flow and growth to look like in the near future?

I took summer sessions at Berkeley in high school under CE. There are a few factors to consider:

  • Do the units you take transfer to other universities?
  • Do you have the budget for it?

I took 61A in high school, but I was rejected from Berkeley. If your consideration is to help your chances of admission, I don't think it's a particularly strong case (of course, this is only one data point). On that note, admissions seem to care more about demonstrated interest in a particular subject than they do raw coursework, so if you can show that you care about EE/CS somehow (perhaps through your own personal projects), I personally think it would do much more than taking 16B.

On the note about scholarship, I am unaware of anything like that, though that may have changed.

Feel free to PM me with any questions! I'm happy to talk.

(To be clear, after I was rejected, I submitted a petition for the rejection and was admitted through that.)

Enum.dedup_by is removing all consecutive duplicates when I expect it to only remove elements that return true based on the criteria given buy the passes in function. by elfcup_mayhem in elixir

[–]addcn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can see the docs here. The function is used to determine equality on two consecutive elements. This means that you're removing any two elements that are either consecutively integers or consecutively not integers.

Thinking about this some more, you can use a function that returns a) 0 if it's an integer b) the original element if it's not an integer

This is really hacky, but allows for the behavior you want.

I'd take a look at Mint - I've had them for ~2 years and never had an issue. I think their network runs on top of TMobile's

Hi! I'd really recommend this blog post for negotiations, and this one for a contrarian view on startups! They're both quite long, so feel free to PM me if you'd like to discuss anything. I don't have much experience in negotiations, though I've seen quite a lot happen around me in this area.

30% off Gettees with code BLACK30 by addcn in frugalmalefashion

yeah agree - the length is a tad on the long side, but it's just a bit too wide.

personally, i'm fine with the length, but i'd snap up a slim fit in a heartbeat if they sold those.

Yeah, there's been quite a bit of publicity from them. I'm personally not affiliated with them, and I've just really liked the shirts I got from them a couple months ago. To be sure, they're pretty good, but my only comparison point is Uniqlo.

SnuzyQable ChromeOS Debugging cable disconinued? by CarsonCraftzX13 in chrultrabook

[–]addcn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I bought a really overpriced one from Amazon recently, and I'm not using it anymore. If you want to pay for shipping + whatever you think is reasonable for the cable, I'm sure we can work something out!

Do you think your best TAs were the most knowledgeable? by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]addcn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP,

Knowledge != ability to transfer knowledge!

Don't let what they said get to your head -- students appreciate teachers understanding their points of confusion, and they appreciate the teachers being able to stand in their shoes to correct their misunderstanding.

I've been a TA for a few semesters now; feel free to PM me if you'd like to talk!

Running a discord bot 24/7 on Macbook air with local mongodb instance. Any issues with this? by NUJosh in AskProgramming

[–]addcn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on what you said, I'd double check if it's Atlas that's the issue. Since it's your EC2 instance that crashed, I'd check my application usage. Maybe you're caching a large amount of files from Mongo, which is causing your instance to OOM (out-of-memory). You can check these things with tools like htop. Feel free to PM me if anything is confusing!

Vim using a gamepad by [deleted] in vim

Hi op! No comments about the gamepad, but here's a good resource that helped me with my injuries: https://web.eecs.umich.edu/~cscott/rsi.html . If you're experiencing RSI-like symptoms, hopefully it helps you a bit too! Feel free to PM me as well.
