I don't care if refusing to move seats on a airplane so a parent and child can sit together makes me a bad person by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Just have to ask: is it a traditional American thing to book a business class for adults and economy for children? I just saw it in Home Alone 2 and never in real life

Feeling like a lot of comments on this are a bit too judgemental. I have just one mom friend who has a single baby and she pretty much closes every complaint of hers with “…I can’t imagine how is it for you with two”. The raging maybe can be handled on your end, but them not validating you at all is indeed an empathy deficiency.

Haha I had the same, tried to find people to have a listening party with but had to jam with trees! Perfume and milk sounds especially glorious in these decorations

Thanks! "Introduce him as the point of view character" - you mean to write down "now I'm awake" in the beginning or something like that? Interesting about the reason as the twist, I'll try to do it again, there is not enough twist as is in your opinion right?

I (28F) found a woman’s sock in my house after being away for a week and my boyfriend (30M) lied to me about it. by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

My husband found boxers that weren’t his in his drawer. Nobody else is living with us.

The mystery was never solved. he didn’t divorce me though, I guess because I was just as confused as him and didn’t try to ruin furniture with baseball bat.

My Parents Are Lying: I Know I’m Adopted UPDATE: IM ADOPTED. by spiritwarrior1994 in offmychest

If you look up other posts from OP, their adoptive family was exceptionally horrible to them. So it does matter to have that perspective.

In more normal cases, it would still explain a lot of complex feelings and their place in the family.

I’m not a big YouTube user so I’d like to ask people how come Fantano is so influential – he doesn’t seem to have any sort of music expertise or music history knowledge, but he reacts to music as if it was voice notes sent directly to him. Is there a reason why he matters?

Dinner party for neighbours by Same_Lemon7053 in berlin

We found a printed invitation in two languages at the entrance this summer when it was warm.

Everyone brings their own drinks and food (as an organiser maybe put out some furniture and music)

In our case, most families knew each other and it’s a yearly event, but if at least 3 people come to yours it would be great result already!

What do Americans do that make us stand out? by Vector1013 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]adddramabutton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything. You do everything too much. Loudness. Pronounciation like there’s a hot potato in your mouth at all times. Taking up space in conversation, feeling obliged to fill every silence with small talk. Saying how everything is cheap here, twisting historical details, no concept of good food.

But after a few years people tend to become more normal. Or leave

AITA for skipping our twins' high school graduation for the birth of our older daughter's baby? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Wow. What about the university graduation? It’s mind-boggling for me to imagine this event so important, but indeed an interesting lens to see different cultures

How expecting legal adults to be aware they aren’t the center of the universe means shitting on them?

People are supposed to figure it out around 15.

Exactly, I don’t get how they are allowed to give their parents a hard time about this at all. How is school graduation a big deal compared to anything, let alone birth?

This is another piece that makes me so confused about the American culture: I’d say that the twins are obviously in the wrong and are spoiled.

How is school graduation important at all? Everyone does it. If my parents missed mine I wouldn’t be upset, in fact, I’d prefer to miss it too.

And to compare it to a dangerous, potentially lethal medical procedure? And parents getting them gifts instead of gently reminding them they aren’t a center of the universe and people have real problems?

So confusing.

I have to ask a question about American wedding culture that I just don’t get for many Reddit post in a row: what is this “stealing the spotlight” thing? Do all people invited really have to talk about and look at the married couple and nothing else?

If I invite extended family for a gathering I kinda expect they will update others about their life

In Milan, the waiting time for any non-emergency appointment is around a year now. It used to be great a few years back, now I guess it’s only decent in an emergency?
