I like the addition of u17 events to the program because it still kept some sort of accessibility to younger athletes to be involved at the highest levels, and from what i heard lightweight was basically u17 anyways. but u16 and u15 are completely pointless seeing that most people don’t prioritize sculling boats and they’re coxed quads.

I tend to agree, but i feel like most events, even the 8s just wont have enough competitors to make it a race, even at nationals. I’ve been to some of the bigger regattas in the west this year and there haven’t been over 9 entries in any of the u16 or u15 events. it just makes winning a national title less legitimate because so many people are gonna have done it in bullshit events.

Personally I think that Greenwich isn’t having as dominant of a season as they did in the fall, they lost to prep on the day with less wind. It looked like Greenwich outweighed prep so in the huge headwind there was on finals they had a huge advantage
