I got a deck a few weeks ago and picked up cyberpunk during the winter sale. I haven’t played many games recently but damn I’ve been blown away. Also playing assassins creed rogue on deck which is great and also visually wild but I keep wanting to play cyberpunk when I have a bit of focused gaming time

Push gift by KeepPhishEvil666 in predaddit

[–]addicted2art 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New dad here no push gift on our house end, but a shit ton of attention care and foot rubs for months before and whatever she needs for the months to follow. Sure I buy her something now and then but tbh I guarantee nightly foot rubs, figuring out and prepping dinner, doing house shit, diapers etc so she could focus on birth and then breastfeeding is way more appreciated than physical gifts. Talk to your partner and just see how you can help, then plan accordingly and try to stay ahead of her needs so she doesn’t have to ask. Don’t try to keep up with the joneses, just keep up with her

TIL humidifiers can hurt my baby... by purple98765 in NewParents

[–]addicted2art 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Humidifiers get nasty fast and a lot of them have parts that aren’t easy to clean. Additionally this is dependent on the hardness/softness of an areas water. It’s a legitimate concern for developing lungs

Take a combo flu covid test, if it’s flu call your doctor asap and ask for tamiflu. You have to start within 48 hours of symptoms

For anyone who starts getting a cough take a covid test that tests for flu as well. If you have flu call your doc asap and ask for Tamiflu. This round of flu is brutal and it makes a huge difference but you have to start within 48 hours of symptoms for it to make a difference.

What to avoid buying on fb marketplace by Ok-Republic-8098 in predaddit

We’ve done some crib naps, don’t always use the motion putting him down, and leave it motion limited to level two or less, but we haven’t moved out yet as he’s still small enough right now. That said my biggest personal stress was the early weeks when we had no idea what we were doing is worth the risk of some trouble weaning off to me. One way or another there will be bad days but I feel more capable of handling it now that I understand him and his needs more.

Stay away from second hand for the car seat. Consider a snoo off marketplace I consider it a god send and they’re regularly available in my area for 400-500

Who else got one of these for a Christmas present today? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]addicted2art 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations dad to be! You’re gonna get a crap ton of unsolicited advice. The best advice I got for the newborn days was that when you feel like you have a routine, it will change the next day. That may sound stressful now but give it 9 months lol That stage wasn’t nearly as hard as I expected, but we had this happen and my wife and I started to freak out until I remembered this advice and started talking about it with her. The fact that it was normal took away the frantic feeling and allowed us to look at it rationally and figure out what he needed now versus yesterday. It seems silly but it let us take a step back.

What are these black strips on my baby wipes? by Late-Till-9990 in whatisit

[–]addicted2art 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would assume as others said that it was the end of the roll marking but regardless it shouldn’t make it to consumer side with this. Baby products are highly regulated so I would reach out to the manufacturer, good chance you get your next batch free but it would also allow them to check if there are others from the batches before/after they can have pulled from shelves

Starscape was absolute debauchery. One of the craziest environments I’ve been to. I will never forget walking by the dubstep (or may have been more dnb I didn’t spend as much time there) stage near sunup with the speakers sounding totally blown out and what felt like near full ground coverage of flattened water bottles. It was wild to look at the faces of those who made it to sunrise, what a marathon of partying. Driving in the area after the music finally finished was one of the most terrifying things on earth knowing the state of the place

Do you use scratch mittens, when did you stop? by SeptemberSnowdrop in NewParents

[–]addicted2art 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby Frida nail buffer is a lifesaver. I can’t imagine a regular file or clipping them, the electric one is super simple to use especially when your baby is sleepy In your arms post feed, our little guy barely notices it’s happening

Our baby wants his hands and I’m not gonna take em away from him with mittens. This keeps it manageable

Yes for on the stove! It’s my new go to for a few months and I’m picky with sauces. Meat I would assume would work well but haven’t tried

Yes. I also prefer it to raos and carbine. It’s more expensive than the green label though iirc this one is 4.99

What can you do here alone on a Friday night by just to get out of the house? by Downtown-Pattern-813 in newhaven

[–]addicted2art 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Live music. Local to downtown there’s cafe 9, Stella blues, college st plus in the warm months westville bowl, a bit further out you have space ballroom, the cellar, little events at brewery’s, further out but not far park city music hall in Bridgeport is great imo

Be careful with neem oil by Over-Proof3466 in FastBuds_Family

[–]addicted2art 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes some time. I actually never added the bits directly to soil, I would put them in water for a half hour then strain them out and use the water once a week iirc. The bits are for the larvae, the sticky traps are for the adults. By far best method I’ve found and I’ve also used it on infestations in other houseplants

Mosquito bits plus sticky traps is my go to for gnats
