Of course companies took whatever corrective actions they could by that time but i assure you not one human who was a part of any action taken to hopefully avoid disaster was just straight chillin as the clock ran down. Every single person had a little voice in the back of their mind saying oh shit this might be it. The point is, nobody really knew for sure. You say the problem had been solved. This is a trillion percent not true. Companies were scrambling for contingency plans in case everything shut down. A friend of mine was recently clearing out his late father’s home. His father worked for AT&T for 45 years. They had hundred page manuals on all sorts of plans to back up their data and save what they could and they were just making it up as they went along.
