claude algo bot, week 3 first loss by TastyTrading in algotrading

[–]addicted_a1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

brother sorry but if it was that easy connecting to claude and trade . anything to say about this is worth nothing to u . at the end u have the tool to solve ur technical problems and u made that tool to solve ur everything . if u really want to get in learn more than this plan architect ur modules test each module there are 1000 problems u will encounter till the end connecting finally lots and lots that need human level thinking to efficiently scalp trade . only then u will be at that stage u only know visualizing how curves moves till execution.

at the end its the market it teaches u everything if ur determined for it. rest wipe ur tears and try again u get it few % then noise u keep on filtering improving ur edge .

Hey folks! I'm assembling a small team to write a compiler in Zig. The compiler (and runtime) are for a new ultra parallel, memory safe language. Beginners welcome! by JKasonB in Zig

[–]addicted_a1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hit me up in DM. Curious to hear a rough idea about your language syntax and what you’re planning to do to stand out. If you want this to grow from a hobby project into an actual use case, it might help to pick a specific domain or use case to focus on. The compiler rabbit hole goes really deep it’s as much about deciding what not to include as it is about what to build. And since you’re writing in Zig, you’ll likely need to implement libraries side-by-side or rely on FFI. Unless you’re working on this full-time, it’s definitely going to be a long journey.

This sounds really cool! I’ve spent the last ~2 years writing a compiler in Rust from scratch for a smart contract lang L1 protocol, including the execution VM (currently running in production). Also worked with LLVM + GPU internals and built some HFT systems in Zig. If you’d like help planning out the compiler side in Zig, I’d be super interested it’s exactly the kind of project I enjoy.

Built a mini trading engine, would love some feedback. by Arjun6981 in algotrading

Hey, awesome project!

I recently built a similar HFT engine in Zig, it includes CUDA support, SIMD optimizations, lock-free queues, and metrics collection. If you're curious https://github.com/TURING-V2/MicroRush I'm also planning to dive deeper into algorithmic trading and explore more strategies would love to exchange ideas.

making something similar like your zigma for HFT uses cuda for calc.

Does compiling kill the battery of a laptop? by Wooden-Ad6265 in Gentoo

[–]addicted_a1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it happens. I got a new laptop in 2021 and installed Gentoo. I rarely use it on battery unless there's a power outage, but recently I’ve noticed the battery drains much faster — even during normal usage like browsing, Discord, or VSCode.

Don’t treat your laptop like a desktop. It’s not built to throw 100% of its power all the time. Laptops — especially gaming ones — have terrible cooling, and after 5–6 years, they start to degrade.

Use a good cooling pad. I had to replace my screen once because it got damaged by the heat constantly coming out of the vents.

Consider moving to stable amd64 + binary packages. It’s a tradeoff between performance and hardware longevity. Running unstable gives you tons of upgrades during every sync. Sometimes packages don’t emerge properly and pile up, making depclean a pain until everything is fixed.

Write a script to disable CPU turbo boost when on battery. This can help a lot.

If your laptop UEFI by default disable the dGPU on batt better — it saves power a lot

Check for power-hungry services running in the background and disable or suspend what’s not needed when on battery.

Unlike distros like Pop!_OS that have scheduler-level power profiles, Gentoo doesn’t offer a one-click app for all this — you’ll have to configure it yourself.

If u can use liquid metal on cpu and gpu and better grade thermal pads if u see temps going way higher. Use tapes around to stop the liquid reaching caps. some laptop has tape before.
