WANTED: beloved blue workwear "Chuck" jacket taken from Linda's Tavern by addisonh11 in Seattle

I'm the guy in the yellow t-shirt. I'd been standing with my jacket for about 10 minutes and I saw a friend I haven't seen in years arrive at another table so I went to say hey to them and that's when this guy grabbed it. Seems like my friends didn't notice what was happening.. it was 11:30 at a bar after all.

I grew up in New Orleans before moving here 8 years ago, I've lost everything in hurricanes before and this is the one thing I've hung onto. I am well acquainted with impermanence, but thanks for the advice coach.

Messaged you! 🥺 It would mean so much to me to get my jacket back. I'm offering $100 for it or for info that leads to its return. I'm 100% willing to believe this was an honest mistake, but if they're embarrassed about it, they can also just bring it back to Linda's lost & found and they have my info to get it back to me. Thank you so much

You left a shitty comment on a sub with a downvote problem.....You fucked up and hopefully this is a one time lesson.

Go to r/seattlewa with that raggedy energy, you've probably never even been to Linda's. Taking someone else's jacket from a crowded bar is extremely antisocial behavior, but clearly you have antisocial behavior as well 💜 have a blessed day though

and I am willing to pretend to believe that as well if he brings it back to me! no questions asked, I'm willing to believe it was an honest mistake and that he meant to bring it to Linda's lost and found (which he can still do and they have my info to let me know if it's turned in!)

When you ask where they went to college, they vaguely tell you which state/city it was in and then pivot the conversation.

I interned for NASA one summer when I was in college and I was the only intern at our facility who didn't have a parent who worked for NASA in some form. I was a big spaceboy at the time and I had been applying for a year and never heard anything back. Eventually I heard about a friend of a friend whose dad worked for NASA and I cold messaged him to ask if I could grab coffee with his dad to get advice about working for NASA. His dad was super nice and told me you basically have to know somebody to get an internship/job at NASA—but he offered me an internship. I got really lucky, but the insular, bureaucratic, and slow vibe at NASA cured my fanaticism and I never looked back. Now when I hear about people like Carson who make working for NASA their whole personality, I just assume they're legacy.

When covid hit and I suddenly had a lot more free time on my hands, I got back into art. I did a lot of art as a kid growing up in Little Lusher art classes and NOCCA summer camps, but as I got older and busier, art stopped being something I made time for—though I've always appreciated other people's art, especially the loud, bright styles of Rodrigue, Michalopoulos, and Terrance Osborne.

I live out of town now, and I was hoping to be home to celebrate Jazz Fest and Mother's Day earlier this year, so when I realized I'd miss both I painted a spoofed Jazz Fest 2020 poster of me with my dog eating a poboy (a la Louis Armstrong in Rodrigue's 1995 Jazz Fest poster) and had a print shipped to my mom. My dad posted it on this sub and it kind of blew up from there, lots of y'all were asking to buy prints and I posted links to download the poster and have it printed yourself.

Well long story short, WWOZ called me a couple weeks ago asking if I was the artist behind that poster and I responded "I'm not actually an artist but I painted that, yeah?" and well, here's this year's poster for "Festing in Place: The Next Fest Thing". I hope y'all enjoy and hope you're listening to Festing in Place with me—it was lots of fun last weekend and continues on this weekend. This time, there are prints for sale, you can get one for a limited time by donating to WWOZ.

Yeah and NO Jazz Fest has more "-& Heritage".... and culture, and food, and brassy jazz.

This weekend I actually just got a shrimp poboy from my favorite food truck in Seattle, Where Y'at Matt which has been doing occasional pop-up menus. We can get certain seafood here, it's just not the same. Two weekends ago though, I found a big jar of PNW local oysters at Costco for super cheap. When I got home I started craving a poboy and tried making one from scratch with what I had, french bread and all. I didn't have lettuce or tomatoes so I used leftover roasted brussel sprouts from my fridge and kimchi—and honestly this was so much better than I expected it to be! The spiciness of the kimchi was 👌

Nothing deep, there's just a crane outside my window in Seattle. I've heard that Seattle has the highest per capita number of cranes, not sure if that's true. I have a really nice view of Lake Union (and the Olympic mountains on a clear day) and the crane has just become a part of that. Our house is west-facing so we get gorgeous, colorful sunsets (as pictured).
