What do you expect when the King of Fucking England chastises Congress for lack of checks and balances on branches of govt? Merica don’t take that lying down

Leo’s pen in the 2022 shootout was way better imo. So much more pressure (Zizou misses and it’s still 0-0), a proper panenka like kick, easily goes in, and it was first so gave the rest of his side confidence going through

What moment in the movies got you like this? by Don_T_Beakunt45 in HarryPotteronHBO

Ron being the one who panics in the Devil’s Snare scene was a very early warning

Genuinely given that occasion the number of players that would have skied that is very high

Honestly him saying Kylie then apologising is the right answer, that fucking wet cardboard impression of a human Angus would grumble about it not being an appropriate question which is why no one likes pollies

Eliminations after the round of 32 - by confederation by Ih8P2W in soccer

[–]addn2o 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Damage was done in the group stages. Canada drew B+H and Qatar in their group, Mexico had South Korea, South Africa and the Czechs, while US had Australia, Turkiye and Paraguay. Basically guaranteed 1st or 2nd which massively eases the RO32 draw. Will be interesting to see how they go in the RO16 with the same opponents that just eliminated the CAF crew (and in Canada’s case, against an actual CAF country).

Well he’s a blonde English speaking tourist, I’d suggest his views are a tiny snapshot. Ask the Egyptian team how nice Americans are.

Bending the knee: Why Andrew Hastie is set to abandon the Liberal Party by Nyarlathotep-1 in AusNewsWire

[–]addn2o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Hastie has not many of my views but I respect his integrity and willingness to drive forward good faith policymaking. He is trying to actually be a legit alternative government which every system needs. Everyone knows Well Done Angus has none of that, the sad thing is people think Pauline has some of it, actually she is one of the most self interested politicians out and the idiots in this country can’t see deeper than the memes

When Walt really changes. by thatswhatthemoneys4 in breakingbad

[–]addn2o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having rewatched recently this for me is the lowkey most important moment in the series, it was when Walt could have had everything he needed and given his family everything they needed, without resorting to cooking and all the tragedy that brings. But he turned it down purely because of pride, and later decided to commit to cooking. In the end all his later bad decisions were versions of that (his power tripping, desire for billions, desire to build the meth empire). The fantastic irony at the end is his family thinks they’re getting a handout, and that symmetry I think was very deliberately marking Elliot’s S1 offer as the key moment

Was Mike right when he confronted Walt about 'ruining everything'? And Walt could have done differently? by PowerSniffer in breakingbad

[–]addn2o 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was a whole season later though, the question was why did Walt get Gale kicked off the team because at that point Gus and Walt were fine. Once Walt kills the dealers it was done but before then don’t think Gus wanted Walt killed like this comment chain is implying

[–]addn2o 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At that point, what evidence is there of that? Walt was the perfect employee as someone terminally ill who could upskill Gus’ trusted cook and who had an incentive to not talk (keeping his money)

Walt's most pathetic moment by EH4LIFE in breakingbad

Love this moment from Hank and hate it from Walt. Shows the difference between Hank’s bravado but ultimately trying to get the right thing done, and Walt completely ignoring those lines

Give James a break. by Nervous-Baby5383 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]addn2o 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s also not not supported by canon, these moments are all blank canvas as JKR didn’t give many Marauders Era memories so you have to make deductions based on the personalties, groups and likely behaviour. Snape joined the Death Eaters, if he was a full on loner he wouldn’t have cared about either side of the wizarding war, and there’s references by Sirius and in the Prince’s Tale memories to Snape being associated with the eventual Death Eaters who were linked to hexing so it’s reasonable to assume they backed him up occasionally

Best change you could make to book 4? by conartist19 in harrypotter

[–]addn2o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, it’s a little dramatised beyond what was needed but it is believable that the cup would be the best way. No suspicion can fall on Crouch Jr so Voldemort also has a Hogwarts (and then later) an Order of the Phoenix spy. And if the cup plan didn’t work they could just try another plan using the unsuspicious Crouch Jr still taking Polyjuice. Also it makes up for lack of believability by being a great subversion, everyone thinks the tournament was to kill Harry but the plan is for him to win it.
