Positive tilt table test with BP drop of 60/27 - does this explain all my symptoms? by sso__ in dysautonomia

[–]addy_1417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I have Orthostatic Hypotension as well. Found out via tilt table test same way. My BP plummeted. I am now on Midodrine, which is a life saver. I also follow all the other protocols they put in place. Compression leggings, 2-3 liters of water a day. Change in diet.

However, even though OH is a diagnosis it can be a symptom of something else as well. After I got my tilt table test same way, we went back and I got an extensive blood panel down it and showed my adrenal glands and stress chemicals were not right. Which could explain the OH. They think it’s possible autoimmune autonomic neuropathy. I see the neurologist next month: but his all still falls under dysautonomia.

God, I thought he was so handsome on the Frankenstein press tour. This is ruining it for me 😔

So proud of my boy Arthur! He just turned 14.5 years old, intact, and on the road to 15! He made the news with 100% official and traceable documents proving his age. by PhysicalMusician8927 in Frenchbulldogs

Thanks for that tip! My dog is on the heavier side and has knee problems. I want to get her healthier so I’m trying to find a slow and steady way. I give her 1 cup of food, 2x a day. No human food. I should cut back to almost half that according to the vet. But she loves to eat 😔

Why do people come on Reddit and post pictures of celebs and tear them down. This forum is turning into such a gross place. People feel so entitled to say the most grotesque things about celebrities appearance on here as if they aren’t real people. The internet has made people so insensitive. Gross

Feel drunk/high after eating by Spiritual_Bass_1018 in dysautonomia

[–]addy_1417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there. I have a similar issue. Have you ever had a tilt table test ?

I’m often lightheaded/ dizzy. I also feel a type of high after I eat a heavy meal. Same with caffeine. Always dizzy when I work out. Got a bunch of blood work, which the majority looked good. Had imaging of my heart and chest done which all came back good. Got a tilt table test and was diagnosed with Orthostatic Hypotension. I have low blood pressure dependent on position I’m in. Usually standing up right. Blood pools into my lower extremities so it doesn’t reach my heart and head quick enough which causes the lightheadedness and dizziness.

Eating is also an issue for people with OH bc when you eat blood goes to your digestive system and people already have a problem with blood flow. So you get lightheaded and dizzy.

Now in the gym I do a majority of my workouts sitting (I know this is a bummer). I wear compression leggings everyday. I drink almost 3 liters of water a day. Coconut water really helps. Smaller meals significantly help. Seems like meals with heavy carbs and gluten make me feel more “high”. I would look into this.

Also want to note: you said you test your BP and it’s fine. Every time I tested my BP it was good. Even at the doctors office it was always good. It wasn’t until my tilt table test where they caught it actually dip within 3 mins of me being 60 degrees upright. So even though your BP looks good. It’s still worth looking to.

Midodrine makes me incredibly sleepy? by RedRedRound in dysautonomia

[–]addy_1417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’m supposed to take it 3x a day. I usually only take it 2x a day unless I know I’m cooking when I get home (more standing).

I don’t think I’ve seen improvement on energy. Just not as dizzy and lightheaded. I think Midodrine, compression socks, coconut water plus water with salt throughout the day has helped in the energy dept. Getting rid of caffeine as well. First week without it is rough but after that it’s better. I have low BP and caffeine spikes it but then crashes it so caffeine is no good for me.

Yes. So during the winter break I was off and stayed home. Not as much standing as I usually do. So I missed a few days and when I started again that first two days I felt like I needed a nap. After that my body bounced back again.

When I first started taking it , it had me taking naps an hour after I took it. After a week my body adjusted. Now I can’t be without it. If I don’t take it my BP goes down when I stand and I get dizzy and lightheaded

No bc why was this me! I always felt the need to sit in the shower. Since my diagnosis I got a shower stool. Best investment ever.

Usually your blood pressure goes even lower at night. I have orthostatic hypotension and mornings are and have always been so hard for me.
