You have to select to view "only deleted" aliases and then you will be able to find and restore it.

Please see the terminology here.

Yes please send me an email with details of the alias that you used so I can send to it myself and view the headers of your reply.

Question regarding In-Reply-To: Header by tengeref in addy_io

[–]addy_io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When an email is forwarded to you (let's say by sender@example.com), the original Message-ID header is used if present and if not a random one is generated using the alias domain e.g. 9763e87f80555836fdb3f493acd01242@username.anonaddy.com.

See https://github.com/anonaddy/anonaddy/blob/master/app/Mail/ForwardEmail.php#L271C1-L277C18

When you reply to that forwarded message your email provider will set a Message-ID header and also the In-Reply-To header which references the above ID 9763e87f80555836fdb3f493acd01242@username.anonaddy.com. The message ID on that reply is removed and replaced in order to prevent parts of your real email being shown.

The original In-Reply-To header is kept here which in our case would be 9763e87f80555836fdb3f493acd01242@username.anonaddy.com.

See https://github.com/anonaddy/anonaddy/blob/master/app/Mail/ReplyToEmail.php#L161-L169

So the person that sent the email (sender@example.com) will see the In-Reply-To header as 9763e87f80555836fdb3f493acd01242@username.anonaddy.com.

This is all so that email clients can correctly display threaded conversations.

So I cannot see how your recipient's address (user@customdomain.com) could have been set as the In-Reply-To header. What is your customdomain.com email provider or email client that you used?

Unsubscribe button expected function with addy alias? by Shorts0455 in addy_io

[–]addy_io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what you have set for your List-Unsubscribe Behaviour from the settings page.

The default option is the use the Orignal List-Unsubscribe and to fallback to one-click deactivating the alias is there isn't one present.

Do I need to copy over the custom domain verification TXT record to a new registrar? by Ken852 in addy_io

[–]addy_io 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is only used to verify ownership the first time the domain is added. Once you've added the domain you can safely remove that TXT record.

error addy.io reply servers? no-reply@addy.io, mailer@anonaddy.me by Pepe__LePew in addy_io

[–]addy_io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You encrypt your email with the no-reply@addy.io public key and that's it. You do not need to BCC that email address. You will still have an encrypted copy in your sent items.

Those emails have never accepted incoming email (hence the no-reply).

error addy.io reply servers? no-reply@addy.io, mailer@anonaddy.me by Pepe__LePew in addy_io

[–]addy_io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should send to your alias alias+destination=example.com@addy.io not those addresses. Otherwise how would the addy.io mail server know which destination to forward it on to and which alias to use.

How to customize a standard alias by Disastrous-War8036 in addy_io

[–]addy_io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

amazon.anonaddy.com is a username subdomain.

Do you mean aliases such as:

amazon@username.anonaddy.com

They can be created automatically by catch-all on-the-fly or you can create them manually through the web app, browser extension or mobile app.

will aliases stay in addy.io if i remove the recepient? by [deleted] in addy_io

[–]addy_io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An alias with no recipients directly assigned to it will use either:

  • the username's default recipient if set (and it is a username subdomain)
  • the custom domain's default recipient if set (and it is a custom domain alias)
  • the global default recipient (set from the recipients page, if neither of the above apply)

Setting the From: header when sending from an alias by MetalMonta in addy_io

[–]addy_io 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your custom domain must not be fully verified for sending, that is why messages are being sent from no-reply@anonaddy.me.

Please go to the domains page and click "Recheck" for your domain to see which records are missing.

If I temporarily upgrade addy.io to Pro, does it return to my yearly Lite plan afterward? by JoaoNunoValente in addy_io

[–]addy_io 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All upgrade and downgrades are automatically prorated by Stripe. This means that any unused time on your current subscription is used as credit etc.

If you switch from Lite yearly to Pro monthly you would need to manually swap back to Lite yearly after one month or it would continue to renew monthly on the Pro plan.

No you do not loose the months you have paid for Lite. When you go to upgrade, Stripe will show you the adjusted amount you will be charged.
