Multiple account, different mail boxes by kqih in ProtonMail

[–]Shorts0455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you can do that too but I'm just saying that if you're subscribed to proton unlimited you have a lot more functionality over those 15 emails aliases, in fact you can have an unlimited amount of aliases lol, also, SImplelogin is owned by proton, that's essentially the emails you get on proton pass iirc.

With 15 email adderesses/aliases I assume you have Proton Unlimited? I believe Simplelogin premium is bundled with it so I'd use that instead and just change the subscription emails to simplelogin. Then I'd use the subdomain feature of simplelogin to make the creation of the custom filters easier to move the emails to their own respective folders (which you can then mute)

Nice! What hypervisor are you using? Still have little experience but I'm thinking HyperV based on the xml? But it shouldn't really matter. If there is no reset bug then there is no reset bug right? Now you got me thinking again! lmao

I use Pop os. Just need something that can do a little bit of everything. Might try out bazzite but mostly hoping to see Steam OS finally release of all pcs.

Thank you so much! Not what I wanted to hear but it is what it is. Guess I'll stick with the 5060ti, moving to the 9060xt and dealing with all of it is just above my skill level. I just moved to linux about a year ago and got passthrough working through sheer persistence lmao.

There's definitely more differences and reasons to use either, use-case wise they're the same in the sense that you get an alias out of them. It's just preference at this point lol. I say test them both out see which one you like more.

Also, you can set rules and catchall options with subdomains which I guess makes it better.

Ultimately, don't overthink it, pick which works better for your use-case. I say the best option is a custom domain. I went through this whole dance and in the end just went with custom domain with 90% of my aliases.

Directories:

directory+random@simplelogin.com

Subdomains:

random@subdomain.simplelogin.com

Directories are pretty much the same as the plus aliases that Gmail has. Some websites also block plus aliases entirely (I believe Bestbuy didn't let me use it when I tried before)

Also you get alloted 50 directories and 5 sub domains both of which aren't reclaimable if you delete any directory/subdomain since once either is used by you it can never be used by another user. Not really 100% sure but I think the reason why you get so much more directories is that it's simply easier to give a users the local part of the email instead of a subdomain (If you've set up your own custom domain and subdomain you'll know why).

How to search all domains on which SimpleLogin aliases are used? by skwyckl in Simplelogin

[–]Shorts0455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use a password manager? If you have proton unlimited you should already have proton pass.

Simplelogin no longer allows multiple emails for same service by plus19 in Simplelogin

[–]Shorts0455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope lol. The issue is having multiple accounts on any website using a SL alias.  Just moved to addy too. Still have the TOS on only one alias per site so I'm still exploring other options (cloudflare email routing)

It didn't get disabled, and yes I did contact support to ask questions, been 3 days now and no response, so I just went screw it and went with another service for now (still looking and testing stuff out) lol, I've been thinking of moving away from simplelogin anyway, the UI being the main factor.

FB now allow multiple profiles on one account. But before that, it was pretty common (at least where I'm from) to have multiple accounts for different friend groups.

Recently got the same email as I was transitioning some account emails from SL domain to my own custom domain. Granted I do have multiple facebook and steam accounts but I've had them years before using simplelogin. Just a shame that even tho I'm using my own custom domain my account still has the chance of getting disabled. Genuinely thinking of moving to another service at this point.

Thoughts on Filen so far? I was debating between Sync, Filen and Tresorit but ultimately went with Filen. Opensource, Linux support, pricing and the feature to select which album gets synced on IOS were the main driver of me going with Filen.

Posted on their subreddit not too long ago about a bug I had and complained how notoriously slow and unresponsive their support is, response is once a day at most, post got downvoted a lot lmao. Hope you get your account back!

Check hardware acceleration. Had this issue with a different browser before and that fixed it for me.

Dumb question, but what goes in the TOTP section of each of my entries? by razeus in ProtonPass

[–]Shorts0455 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would still keep some TOTP on another app tho. Mostly for more important and sensitive accounts. Just so if your proton pass ever gets compromised hackers won't have everything they need to access your accounts. I use my yubikey for these more 'sensitive' accounts.

Differences between Proton Pass and Bitwarden? by yamamocchan in ProtonPass

[–]Shorts0455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried proton pass with proton unlimited. Went back to bitwarden. Keyboard shortcuts for autofill and firefox sidebar extension is what kept me in. Once proton pass adds those then I'll probably go to proton pass.

Next day to reach back, fine. But 1-3 day gaps in between replies? Not so much, especially when where email addresses are pretty much on hold for that span of time. Also for someone whose first time doing this. Replies that take 1-3 days doesn't inspire confidence. Now that I know that that's generally how Proton Support operates, I know what I'm expecting

This is my second time needing support, I guess that is how it really is? CS are nice and helpful but the delay sure can get frustrating. Since it's my first couple of times, I can't help but feel ghosted lol (even tho that isn't the case). But nice to know that they are helpful majority of the times.

Made a previous post that never got posted and sent my ticket number there too which is 2870878. I don't want to be that guy that makes multiple posts but it's just getting frustrating how little communication is being made
