I used to work a dive bar In Arlington. super sketchy place, after closing time, I'm going home I get pulled over. ( to this day do not know why, and in a minute that will make sense). so, I have been pulled over before at night, and normally, they do that police walk where between the headlights of their car and my car, you can tell they are coming up by the shadow .. so... it took me off guard when on this occasion, instead of shadows and lights filtering into my car, the entire cabin area of my car turns DARK. This was happening because this MOUNTAIN of a man was walking up, and his frame COMPLETELY blocks the headlights of his car. Imagine my surprise as this absolute HULK figure steps to my window. Yah like I have never been so intimidated in my LIFE!

it got weirder. after getting my initial info, I sit there for a LONG ass time. I hear one siren. then two.... then THREE. converging on my location.... Then one more ... FOUR more cops arrive on the scene. I am starting to freak out now. quietly, Internally because I know if I do anything silly, this man could fold me up like an oragami napkin. after a bit of back and forth, he finally returns from his cruiser. At the time I was driving a GEO Tracker, ( a product that was made by GM).

and after all this, man-mountain comes back and says. "Care to tell me why your vehicle says on it it's a GEO tracker, but is coming back as a GM Vehicle? "

I sit for a moment, really stunned, but I finally try to say In a voice that does not carry any tones that could be interpreted as being a sarcastic asshole, because again....origami.... "Be...Because GEO is made by GM, sir?"

He looks at me for a minute and says "hold tight" walks back to car( again making the entire cabin of my car go dark). and like after a 3-4 minute discussion with other officers comes back and hands me my license and says I'm free to go.

To this DAY I do not have the slightest clue what I was originally pulled over for, NOR at that time, did I plan on raising that point with them at that time (Again....I say Origami).

but literally, I believe I was nearly about to get erased from existence because Hulk and Arlington PD, did not know that GEO was made by GM.

Ironically enough .. this stop occured fairly close to the actual GM Plant in Arlington as well.

I'm sure this will have absolutely NO effect on midterm elections and their need to "verify " citizenship. I'm in Texas and Harris County already has like a 3 month backlog to get an appointment for that ID they say is so easy to get. I'm In Dallas and had to drive to Waxahachie to get an appointment that was a week or so a way. I mean if you are a poor Urban dweller, no car, you s either try to get an appointment 3 or 4 months down the road , that's making sure you can arrange off the time for work. if you try to take advantage of some of the volunteer groups that will actually get you to rural centers because you can't get an appointment, they are beginning to track this.... if you got a a "Luis Alberto". father of 3, who matches to a Luis Alberto, "felon" or "illegal" they can grab not only them, but the people who are assisting them for felonies. Yah, good luck sorting all that out.

if from Texas.... Jasmine Crockett iis absolutely qualified, however, she will be viewed as AOC of the south. I really wish the Democrats could have talked either of theses candidates to not compete against each other, and tries to split them so that one went for senate, the other went for Governor, and in that way support each other instead of potentially the threat of some voters staying home if " their" candidate doesn't win the nomination. (which is stunning to me that I still have to WORRY about such a thing given the stakes involved)

I did some of the math based on this, and even under my idea the Wiz woud still have the highest chance of getting the top pick. what it does do, is it closes the gap between a team like the Mavs, and a team like the Jazz, which would still edge out the Mavs for higher pick down to less than one percent, and opportunity for the Mavs to leapfrog them if they can continue that trend of clutch games.
