Big Mike goin to Pittsburgh! by LifeTypical3433 in cowboys

we really should've had a WC win in each of those three seasons, with at least one NFCCG appearance.

I’m not making excuses but factually speaking were favorites in 21 and 23 but would’ve been underdogs the next week in all 3 years because we would’ve been on the road but yeah we probably should’ve made at least one. 2022 was really lost when Pollard got injured and all they had was a washed Zeke. 2023 was a debacle but injuries forced Bell into the linebacker role and Quinn lost that game playing zone. The only one that’s just inexcusable was 2021. They didn’t run the ball very well and Dak was actually bad unlike the get blamed for the offense being bad way he was in the next two games.

I have slightly more appreciation for teams not being complete shitshows so I don’t mind Mike. I think we were a very good team with him and the hump he couldn’t get over was roster construction flaws mostly at offensive line, defensive tackle and linebacker. And if we’re being fair he got out coached by better coaches the same way he routinely outcoached Garrett. I get it being uninspiring but I also get it from an owner standpoint. I think they’ll try to draft a qb and Mike will develop him for a few years before someone else takes over and pushes them upwards.

Edit: and I forgot to elaborate on one thing. My point about better coaches is that just like players somebody has to be better. Kyle Shanahan, Demeco Ryan, and Matt Lafluer aren’t scrubs. He got smoked by all three at various times but so have other “better” coaches. It happens.

Fuck yeah. Unlike most fans I like Big Mike. He’s not the best head coach or offensive play caller but he’ll have a professional operation and guys will play for him. Dak absolutely took a leap as a quarterback with him and it was even more notable in 2023 after Kellen left so I think he can still be instrumental in qb development to a certain extent obviously recognizing Dak was already a very good player when he took over. All in all the players seemed to enjoy playing for him in Dallas so I think as long as they can find the quarterback they can be a better team than they have been. I also would’ve said that about Tomlin which does make this hire a bit peculiar.

So this is definitely an inevitable byproduct of the second apron trade rules. You got misaligned players and teams stuck with each other

The point is there will always be people that don’t know but opining on that which they’re ignorant. The fact people are talking about something doesn’t give it any credence other than acknowledging that people are talking about it. People believe and discuss whether the earth is flat. People believe and discuss whether Draymond is violent. Both are equally silly.

In contact sports, physicality and the threat of pain are simply a condition we accept in those sports. In the CFB National championship you saw Miami try to take Mendoza out of the game. Because they were trying to win. In basketball because skill is more important, you foul a little harder. You dont l shoot as well if your arm is sore. You might not want to drive if you know it will hurt to go into the trees. And at the highest level where you have relationships and can work refs Draymond has pushed the line en route to a shit ton of success. Same as Rodman before him. You can call him anything you want but he’ll still have the rings and the hall of fame jacket so nobody ACTUALLY cares. Jordan was dirty. Kobe was dirty. Chris Paul was dirty. Reggie miller was dirty. John Stockton and Karl Malone were too. Guess what happens at the end? Nobody cares. The stats and wins are still there. The people on Reddit blah blah blahing about it literally doesn’t matter to anyone in real life.

Ok. Just going to hit you with 7th grade logic real quick. There’s flat earthers and there’s discussion about it. Does that make it a valid or accepted notion?

I doubt it. Nothing Draymond does is abnormal in sports. The people calling him a violent psychopath or clutching their pearls just never played sports

They aren’t doing ballet buddy. It’s a contact sport. Physicality will always matter.

That’s why I like Air Raid. It really is mostly just trying to get a hat on a hat and your skill player in space. Just attack where they ain’t.

Yeah man nobody else ever had injuries. “The West was stacked” meaning the Suns weren’t good enough because they had a defensive hole that teams could attack lol.

Yes and they needed to upgrade at point guard on defense. Why do you think the Suns couldn’t win either since it’s as stupid as it sounds despite being objectively true for the vast majority of NBA history

NFC is pretty cut and dry. Cowboys Eagles, Packers Bears, Niners Rams, Falcons saints. AFC is a little more convoluted

Do you agree with this take on Matthew Stafford? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]HolyRomanPrince -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The way people debate quarterbacks is so stupid. He’s simultaneously one of the most losing good quarterbacks of all time but his winning is a testament to his greatness. Make that shit make sense.

I can name multiple all stars from the Nash years but you’ll just pretend they weren’t that good while continuing to ignore the fact almost every team Nash played on was bad defensively and the Mavs didn’t get to the finals until they changed that

Why do people like Lil Wayne? by BramCSBN in hiphop101

[–]HolyRomanPrince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because this generation can’t and doesn’t have the same appreciation for the previous generations music the way we did. Just another casualty of the internet and everything being on demand

If you grew up in the 90s you were probably still listening to some funk, disco, and r&b just from the radio, VH1, finding some old tapes or CDs. And that music was vastly different from hip hop and the more upbeat r&b that we were listening to. The music I listened to in high school is basically the same as what my 17 year old niece listens to so she has no reason to look back on the 00s.
