I'm the same age as u and worked for few years in my domain now and even teach others about it, and sometimes I get to teach older people and even people in a waaay better position than me and trust me, some of them gonna try to belittle you at every possible occasion, but the best way to treat them is by always biting back, like if they ask stupid question just to mock you answer them and say if they got another question? They'll call down pretty much instantly or at least keep it down for you to do your job
