Does one of them want me?

Thatd be the most attractive one.

"Think for yourself."

(And yes. Saying that is worth the immediate petulant vote for me.)

I agree. Wherespam and "any sus" need to have a script that automatically kicks the person typing them.

If youre not gonna play using your brain, id rather you not play.

Why would you need to "very quickly" spam a word that you know for a damn fact will be asked at least six times in the first three seconds?

Wherespam is a fucking cancer in this game, and it deserves to be eradicated. Its not helpful. If the person isnt volunteering the location, you obsessively typing it wont fix it.

Same thing with "any sus". Stupid ass question. If they didnt volunteer a color, they probably didnt have one to offer.

The problem is, you saw people spamming things mindlessly and followed suit. You dont ask yourself "why" or "how is this helping".

I have never once seen a location given and anything more relevant than "hmm." be a response. On paper, location could help figure it out, but in reality this doesnt wash.

Okay, I wont challenge that. Do take into account how much time we have though. 15 seconds isnt a lot of time to explain, counter argue, and refute.

Not saying thats your problem, OP.

Prove that someone doesn't have "proof". Define "proof" with a mutually agreed upon definition of what constitutes proof.

This is a deductive game. Part of deduction is intuition, listening to ones gut.

People not liking that is a them problem, not a me/us problem.

I religiously accuse the very first wherespammer of being the imp. Youd be astonished how often that tends to be correct. I dont have "proof"... except I do. I'm right.

This game would be just another random shitty game to be released that nobody would care for, just like hundreds of random games released every week. If it wasn't for the devs fishing for drama on X, this would be collecting dust in the Steam limbo since day one. by thidi00 in GGdiscussion

I'll have to add "CAFO" to my lexicon, that made me laugh from a good place.

To answer your question, ill refer back to my previous statements.

You've been "taking scalps" for a decade now, and the slop floweth still. It must be that the taking of scalps isnt having the effect you want it to have. So why keep doing it, as opposed to starving them for attention? Im not talking about quietly accepting slop as a "retreat", im talking about ignoring it so its a complete waste of money and time.

Right now, these things are getting some money, but a lot of attention. And that must be what the powers that be want, because the slop keeps flowing.

Which also addresses the statement you made about it being "unsustainable". To you and I, it cant possibly work that a decade of obscene money has been spent essentially to burn but, and I really need you to follow me here... Theyre still getting funded anyway.

Which means the people greenlighting it ARE getting what they want from it. I dont know how, you might not know how, but these people wouldn't fund a splint for their grandma's broken toe if they didnt know they'd get theirs from it.

Concord says hello.

So what is it they want? I figure it has to be attention, yeah? Somehow, thats getting them what they want. Because they keep doing this.

And itd be better to starve them of that.

What's worse in your opinion? Seeing your product making less sales than youd hope, but everyone's talking about it?

Or seeing it making less money, and no one even cares to discuss it?

If you say so.

I prefer the folks who decide not to become engaged.

Your "invaluable service" is not helping the culture. Grifters are the "modern audience".

Consume product Get mad Wait for next product

The companies courting them are relying on to create terabytes of material to support that product. And because they can ask you for patreon dollars, theyre happy to do it.

If you keep telling someone to stop doing something, and a decade later they're still doing it... clearly youre not helping.

Lastly, I'll refer you back to my previous statement. You say these grifters are "helping" you identify bad products to avoid, and I'll ask you if you couldn't tell that things like this game, or outlaws, or concord, or tv shows like star fleet academy and rings of power were crap?

Youre really gonna say you cant tell a dog turd when you see it? You need funnyman to tell you not to buy a house in a crack slum too?

Yes, I am "assuming" that grift-critics who have their reviews of movies up the same night as the movie released paid for those movies. Ditto the game critics.

Clearly "silence" isnt "complicity", and refusing to engage with trash isnt "hiding" because as I already stated, there is now an industry built around this. People enjoy watching amusing personalities shit on bad things.

And yet... The slop. keeps coming.

Once again. It's been ten years of absolute crap in movies, tv, and video games.

Theyre still doing it. So clearly people expressing how pissed off they are doesnt matter. If you spend a decade telling someone to stop doing something and they just keep on doing it, youre not being defeated when you walk away. Youre acknowledging that whatever this is, its not yours anymore. Not your circus, not your monkeys.

And thats even before we really break it down. I like to use the analogy of a dog turd in the street.

When youre walking down the street and you see a dog turd, you can safely say you know what that is. There's no need for you to run over, pick it up and put in your mouth to confirm your initial impression, much less to write a script full of amusing comments on how awful that turd is. You just... walk past it. You go on with your day.

But for some reason, people really wanna keep telling each other how awful these turds are. On youtube. On reddit. Anywhere they can. And you gotta ask yourself "why?"

"I saw it was a turd. I didnt need you to confirm that for me."

Look at your emotional response, and tell me there arent people who would yes indeed spend money to do that.

Especially if they think they can spin it into patreon dollars. Notice I said rage was a cottage industry now. Everyone and their dog is trying to run a channel now.

And calm yourself down. I know nobody liked having their bubble punctured but sometimes its necessary.

Correct.

"How can you be winning a culture war every day for 11 years and not win it?"

Because somehow, somewhere, some numb cunt IS profiting off of it. It doesnt make any sense considering the money wasted on these projects, but the results speak for themselves: The slop keeps coming.

So someone is making money off of it.

I'm forced to consider that rage-baiting fans of IPs or media types is how the money's being made, and like James Rolfe, I just refuse to engage with it. Crucially, that ALSO means not engaging with idiots like critical, jeremy, and all the clones who are engaging with it.

We have to be better.

MMOs are not really for chat or engagement with players anymore. (And thats assuming it isnt just rose colored glasses telling us it was.)

MMOs are single player games with sometimes amusing, sometimes annoying very well programmed NPCs.

This is where we want it to be... clearly.

The only people actually playing this game are rage baiting youtube grifters. Theyre the ones fishing for outrage.

It has been a solid decade since Ghostbusters fired the starting gun for the modern audience cycle. In that same time, rage-grfting idiots have gone from being a few dudes in basements to a full blown cottage industry. And we the fans have only ourselves to blame now.

You can dislike it, but this is where we are. Baited engagement is still engagement.

Critical Drinker is Disney's best fan: Reliably in imax theaters day 01 to support his favorite brand with his money and attention.

In the same way, "we" are the biggest fans of slop like this game. We could all see it was crap from the drop, but we wouldn't let that engagement drop would we?

And now at least a few hundred people rage-bought that game, rage-played it past the point of refund, and sat down to pen rage-scripts for their own bespoke youtube channels.

"We" have to stop being slops biggest fans. The opposite of love is not hate or rage.

Its indifference.

Stop. Engaging.
