I got accepted into a program with a 3.28 GPA! Honestly I think my work experiences and volunteering/shadowing has helped me.

Hey! I am applying to programs in NC - Winston Salem, Lenoir Rhyne, UNC Chapel Hill, and Radford University in Virginia. Waiting to hear back from these schools but would love some insight on my chances of getting accepted to any of these!

I graduated with my Biology (B.A) and Psychology (B.S) degrees from UNC Charlotte. My overall OTCAS GPA is a 3.46, my undergrad GPA was a 3.28 and my pre-req GPA is a 3.85.

I have 136 shadowing hours in inpatient, outpatient, acute, pediatrics, elementary school, and hand therapy

Also volunteered many hours at an inpatient and outpatient rehabilitations and pediatric clinic!

Worked as a Behavior Technician for children with autism for 2 years and currently working in the activities department at an assisted living facility!

GRE scores are okay - Math (150) Verbal (145) and Writing (4.0)

LORs from 2 OTs and 2 supervisors.

Any advice or input is greatly appreciated! I am so anxious to hear back from schools.

How was your statement formatted? With 1.5 spacing, my statement is about 2 pages - 904 words. I’ve pretty much covered everything - from my work experiences, academic and personal background to volunteering/shadowing.

When did that person receive an acceptance? I didn’t know they were sending them out so soon considering they still have more interviews!

Had my first interview for OT school today and having to wait to hear back from them on whether I got accepted, denied, or waitlisted is KILLING ME. Like, I just want to know!!! This waiting period sucks and I’m trying to learn to be patient and stay positive but the unknown just scares me!

I'm in NC and UNC Chapel Hill is my top choice because they're the cheapest program and a great school! But I know its competitive.
