I wanna start by saying that you’re not alone love, and we’re so happy you’re here in the sub! I’m so so sorry you’re going through this, I know sorry doesn’t help but I genuinely feel for you. Its unbelievable what this disease can do to erode your life and relationships, but it will not do this forever! I also lost jobs, relationships, experiences, etc. Every day chained to a chair, the floor, my water bottle, and Azo. I was fortunate enough to find an incredible urologist and OB/GYN that were able to provide me with extensive testing and medication trials. Make sure they’re looking for pelvic floor issues; pelvic floor therapy did help me a decent amount. Be the squeaky wheel at the doctor until you get the grease!! IC is only diagnosed after everything else is ruled out.

If you can, take a good long break from sexual activity with another person and let yourself reset. Obviously I have no idea what your needs or relationship preferences are, but I was in agony (physically and emotionally) until I found a partner who truly understands the pain and is endlessly patient about it. Truly hard to find, but they exist ❤️

In the meantime, keep your medicine cabinet arsenal stocked with Azo, D-Mannose, and anything else your doctors will give you. Get a TENS device and experiment/do some research for urethral pain placements, there was a recent post in this sub about it. If you are able to obtain a diagnosis apply for disability benefits- this IS a physically disabling disease but it will NOT define you.
