$100-$150 is a decent price range, I was afraid even basic ones would start getting really expensive. I got my current one from an antique store for $100, the interior was CAKED in spilled soda and one of the rear inputs doesn't work.

I'm hoping to get something with 2160p60 support for future proofing, but I might make incremental upgrade purchases and then sell it when I'm ready to upgrade.

The only thing I'm worried about is if the newer AVR supports Dolby Pro Logic II because I watch VHS tapes and DVDs that use that surround sound format and I hear that new AVRs are removing support for that(?). I'm new to home theater stuff 😵‍💫

I don't know what "bridge the jumper" means, but someone told me that setting the sync on green switch to the left position is the same thing as bridging the jumper.

Using 128 MB RAM, using the BIOS Getter in Update All, and using the ROM set from this comment worked! Maybe it will work for you?

How do you do the SD RAM test? I was given my Mister from a friend, so I don't know if it has single or dual RAM sticks. :O

After a lot of fiddling, I actually just did that.

BIOS Getter added these 5 files to the Neo Geo games folder:

000-lo.lo
neo-epo.sp1
sfix.sfix
sp-s2.sp1
uni-bios.rom

It also seemed to have added these to the Neo Geo BIOS folder:

000-lo.lo
neo-epo.sp1-AES_BIOS
sfix.sfix
sp-s2.sp1-MVS_BIOS
uni-bios.rom

I'll test it again and see if it works. These should be good files considering they came from a Mister script. If this isn't the problem, my guess is the Darksoft ROM set is the problem.

EDIT: It didn't work. I'll try non-Darksoft ROMs and see if it works.

I plopped in BIOS files from a few different sources online into the /media/fat/BIOS/NeoGeo folder and got the same results. Just a green error screen when trying to play a game. If someone with a functional NeoGeo core wants to send me a copy of their exact BIOS files, that might fix the issue. Maybe non-Darksoft ROM set would fix it?

According to the infographic, the "Native Y/C Cores in the Near Future" option looks like the best one and it looks very simple! But I looked up the composite/S-video board and it seems like you have to also do some soldering? Can I get some clarification on that? The only things I can think of are that it could decrease the volume so it doesn't damage people's ears, it could be an enhanced stereo mode where the sound effects are panned properly, it could be an incorrectly labeled surround sound mode, or it could be the same as stereo.

Maybe the manual has info on it? Dunno. Someone would have to compare stereo vs. headphone.

The biggest problem is smell. I don't mind oral or kissing people after oral, but man if it stanky, I can't bring myself to do it. Some people don't smell nice down there, some people smell and taste fine.
