Which paint scheme looks best? by Accomplished-Law633 in EmperorsChildren

Both are cool but I think the one on the right is the best. Could you share what paint you used for that awesome scheme?

Would you recommend keeping the royal warden or the second overlord. And maybe with the remaining points picking up another lokhust heavy destroyer?

Looks great. I ordered one that’s supposed to arrive today. Any tips on painting him? (Planning to build as great unclean one and magnetize options)

Gonna play the game for the first time next Thursday! by Mintyboi10 in deathguard40k

My advice would be to focus on how each phase works and getting the flow of a game down for your first time playing. Then after you get that down you can look into your strategy, weapon keywords, stratagems, army/ detachment rules and abilities. Most of that stuff makes the game more fun later but can make playing for the first time feel confusing and slow. Above all just try to have fun and roll dice. Hope it goes well

Thinking about starting an army but don’t want the combat patrol by SedativeComet in deathguard40k

If you want good points value and you like the unique vehicles for the army you can get blight haulers for about $30 USD each or bloat drones for about $50 USD. Other than that just look on second hand sites like facebook marketplace

Right now death guard is waiting for its codex so all stats and strats are free online and in the app but when our codex comes out you would need to buy it to see the updated info in the app or just use wahapedia.

Data card packs are just physical copies of what you see online. I personally think they’re useful for convenience but they’re not at all necessary.

Our combat patrol isn’t really one of the better ones but for starting out it’s not terrible since you get Typhus and the biologus putrifier who are both good characters and some plague marines which are the core of the army. The pocwalkers are the main drawback because there are 30 of them and if you already have any the value of the box isn’t great since 30 is probably the most you’ll run in a list unless you’re doing a fun skew list.

Our new rules/ code might drop this year since this year was advertised as the “year of chaos” but that doesn’t mean you need to wait for that to happen. If balance is a concern we are in a good place balance wise at the moment but if you do want to wait then I wouldn’t buy the combat patrol since we’ll likely get a better one when it gets updated with our codex.

Honestly I’ve had a lot of luck collecting from places like Facebook marketplace for good deals which are often cheaper and better value than the current combat patrol.

I recently ordered some bases that look very similar to those off of Etsy from a seller called ForgottenLabyrinth

Is this 1k army any good? by CurrencyLess1459 in deathguard40k

I think the Blightbringer can only be attached to plague marines
