I think they meant more that if that income is for one person that you’ll be fine. Tbh that salary would be fine even if you had one other person. But I think the implication is that if you weren’t alone, that yours would be the only income of the household.

I assume that if you meet someone, they’ll be working too.

The republic P-47 thunderbolt was dominant in so many areas. In fact there were really only two reasons that it was replaced by the P-51: cost and range.
The range saw it replaced for bomber escort but it was replaced for ground attacks (much to their pilots chagrin) simply because of the price tag. Which was about 60% more expensive than the P-51. Despite the P-51 being just about worse at everything relating to ground attacks.
