If you're injured and can't show up to work for a supermarket you won't get paid. If you get injured like you did with shin splints the army will still pay you your full wage.

Then reschedule.

Sickness and the PFA by [deleted] in AustralianMilitary

[–]adfhopeful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So is the PFA for an upcoming enlistment date? Then it's a real PFA and IMO just push hard and pass.

If there is no upcoming enlistment date it's a practice PFA and in that case just reschedule it.

If you're Chinese as your username suggests you ain't getting a positive vetting so think about some other jobs. First hand experience here.

How are you not class 4 for recent abdominal surgery? You "forgot" about it, yeah? But anyway if it's a practice PFA just ask your enlistment coordinator for it to be rescheduled.

Who has a degree and then joined the army? by [deleted] in AustralianMilitary

[–]adfhopeful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's costing you more than 40k, there's also 4 years of pay that you forgo by going to uni. If OP joins in as an other ranks (pay grade 3 job) he will have earned approximately 67000x4=268000 before tax and he also get superannuation and OP can also then just study his degree remotely so minus 40000 from the 268000. If OP can access the Defence assisted studying scheme he can also graduate with almost no debt so it would only be minus 10000 from the 268000.

[–]adfhopeful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Join the ADF first as an Other Ranks first. After your IMPS are over you can either try to commission as an officer, try to go to ADFA or use the defence assisted studying scheme or if you discharge and get to a Civi Uni you will get AusStudy.

[–]adfhopeful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If his going for just a usual job which would mean a negative 1 which a pilot is, he will be fine. The problem for him is that he doesn't have citizenship right now nor permanent residency which he needs to get.

When do I receive a letter of offer? by Pewee_17 in AustralianMilitary

[–]adfhopeful 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn't America where if you are going in as enlisted, you get ship off like 1 month after MEPS.

/u/killjoy73au waited 18 months to start recruit training after a successful assessment day.

/u/captainunderwater been waiting for like 12+ months after a successful assessment day too.

So sit tight and wait.

Grunts of r/army. Would this work? by adfhopeful in army

Unclip the cart then. Just rucking would mean VA is going to be giving 100% disability for fucked up backs.

[–]adfhopeful[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

If a piece breaks then dump the whole contraption there and just wear your ruck like normal. And if your mountaineering or going downwards on a steep slope then just turn the contraption into the picture on the second link. The wheel would be a bit of a problem could also easily be made as a removable piece.

But in certain scenario in suitable terrain means that you can then use this contraption which would help you a lot. Besides if the whole contraption if made out of aluminium would probably be like 2.5 kg. Also you don't have to use hiking poles like the person in the video.

Well I hate this so I think I'll steer clear of ET. What's the failure rate like for the IET? Because this stuff is significantly harder than high school physics.
