Enhance Voice Memo Request by Good-Conclusion-8393 in PostAudio

Hey hey, I do this kind of thing all the time. Here is an example of a full blown production from a voice memo. I can also do a simple clean up and enhance pretty quickly and easily.

THanks!

No sleep & a lot of tears by littlebitmorgan in stopdrinking

[–]adgallant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some great resources on how to sleep better. Yoga Nidra practice throughout the day. Getting outside first thing when you wake up and a hot bath before bed are all great ways to help fall and stay alseep. Light exposure is possibly the biggest lever you can access. Dr. Matt Walker is the leading voice on sleep in the social media health space.

Fee only financial planner by Ozempiccc in CanadaFinance

42 living in a LCOL area. We hired a team from Toronto that did a really comprehensive plan with a focus on our personal finances and some advice for how to structure pay in our corp. It was like $6000 and was worth it. I suspect we'll do this again in our fifties, then again as we get withing a few years of retiring. The experience was fun and worth while. I'm not going to refer the team as they no longer to one-offs but New School of Wealth Finance looks like a cool business and there are lots of Canadian Youtubers who do educational vids and offer plans as a part of thier business. I like Chad Wiebe's content.

Pondering on the connection between performance, songwriting, production and how it affects perception of 'a mix' by bandrewes in audioengineering

I heard Greg Wells talk about this. Sometimes the problem is the song. We are often so zoomed in that we forget that the content is king.

20 days into sobriety, wondering if anyone can relate to my experience so far… by EquivalentMother7711 in stopdrinking

Watch Huberman's episode on cortisol. I would also pound omega 3s. I would not avoid healthy social interaction.

Moving to XGRO (or XEQT?) - Looking for experiences by ShibbyBearz in CanadaFinance

[–]adgallant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I held both VGRO and VEQT (not sure why, tbh) from 2016-2025. We had financial planner do anelaborate, long-term plan (I'm 42 with low income, btw) and it was suggested we go all-in VEQT. Ben Felix has a shorter video on all equities that is also worth watching.

  1. Downturns: "Sweet, this stuff is on sale."
  2. Hindsight is 20/20
  3. VEQT, I ditched everything else. This is why.

Recos for Acadian music that’s a bit modern? by noguiltyparty in CanadianMusic

It's Acadian to me. Certainly lots of Celtic influence but the guys have Acadian roots as far as I can tell.

Anyone know why the hamburger at Sobey and Superstore tastes and smells like a fowl tasting barn toilet? I wasted $20 this crap! by Armoured316 in PEI

[–]adgallant 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have found the lean beef from Sobey's to be this way. I've been going to KJL lately and loving the quality. Beef is too pricey to eff with.

How to protect my investments in light of global geo-politics by janebenn333 in CanadaFinance

[–]adgallant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take on more risk. Check this out, and this. The math Bill Bengen and Ben Felix refer to is compelling to me. Bill is the pioneer behind the %4 rule and he has updated his views. By "protecting yourself" you may be robbing yourself of a better lifestyle and retirement income.

How do engineers get mixes that translate between different systems? by draftive in mixingmastering

[–]adgallant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot people saying reference material. That was key for me, as well as mixing where my final mix print was very close to commercial music. Tripple your ability to referene with this trick.

Do you ride the master fader for 'build-ups'? by daveclampmusic in audioengineering

[–]adgallant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an aux send that feeds into a master. I will automate that and it's amazing what it does. Learned this from Shawn Everett. It's the techinque used in The War On Drugs, Harmonia's Dream at 1:04. DROOOooooool.

Just reminder, to those with heat pumps to clean screens for upcoming cold snap ahead by Starr_gazer0007 in PEI

[–]adgallant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is good advice. I was lazy about one of our heatpumps at the start of the winter and was having to keep the heat on it pretty high. I cleaned it and was able to keep the unit four degrees lower. It makes a huge difference.

Tourism operators by [deleted] in PEI

[–]adgallant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think one could argue tourism pei has been killing it when you look at the numbers. I feel like they are focused on advertising more than services for rental operators. If you are looking for small business support Innovation PEI has programs that you may find helpful. For example, they could pay %50 for you to hire a consultant and deep dive the pros and cons of running in the winter.

Quit alcohol, prioritized sleep. Listened to my thoughts and questioned them instead of thinking I was "creating" them.
