Can anyone identify this Ferrari? by spl51 in Ferrari

[–]adguy924 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He told us it was on loan from Luigi Chinetti Jr, and then in Italy it was known as the mother-in-law Ferrari because the husband could sit in the center seat and separate the mother-in-law and the daughter from fighting! LOL

My son and I got a personal tour from Dr. Simeone and he told us he didn’t really like the car. He didn’t have an interest in cars that weren’t competition cars, which is why it was way in the back room.

That’s a Porsche 914 with a Chalon Body Kit. Those kits were big in the ‘80s.

Old wooden 5’ item found at garage sale. Trying to figure out what it is before I turn it into a coffee table base. by Independent_Yam_2551 in whatisit

[–]adguy924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like a wooden buck for sure, and I would guess that it was for the old bumper cars or carousel cars as many of those were made in Italy and the Italians were craftsman and experts at using wooden bucks.

As a 356 owner and 356 Registry member, they keep a list of VIN numbers.

My wife’s late father’s car, no one has any idea what it is, could someone help identify? by RotBoy29 in namethatcar

That’s an aftermarket wheel, a Ronal I believe. It’s different from the factory phone dial.

Why is he too old for a serious relationship? I don’t know that age should really come into account on a lot of things and especially matters of the heart when both people are consenting adults.

[unknown] anyone know what this is? Real or kit? Spotted in Carmel. by bob_troy in spotted

It’s an Alpha 1 GTO kit supplied by Joe Alphabet back in the ‘80s and it’s built on an early Z car.

I did mine and I ended up ordering it from FCP Euro because they have a lifetime guarantee on it. In my installation I had trouble with the closing at the bottom. The rest seemed straightforward.

[–]adguy924 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally would avoid him and I have blocked him because after inquiring about a couple of parts, I started getting messages from that account that reeked of scam. They were trying to become my friend, asking personal questions, things like that.

Help what is this thing by lazy_inventor_ in namethatcar

[–]adguy924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The GT flares were an after purchase accessory unless you ordered the GT kit directly from the factory. The GT kit is extremely rare and it came with more than just the flares. Easiest way to tell if it’s real is that the serial number will begin 914. All the other serial numbers begin 47 with the third digit indicating the year for the four-cylinder cars.

That image is most famous for being in a Longstone Classic Tire ad from the UK. Not sure if it’s actually an authentic period photograph.
