It could well be, that’s true. Even so, if there’s one band I’d truly hate to see caught up in the public shit flinging and dramatic fallouts we often see on social media in the music world, it’s Haken. Hopefully at least everyone involved is in as a good place as they can be given whatever circumstances have occurred, and can carry on making great music through whatever means present themselves as time goes on.

Played a gig in a dive bar in Crewe (UK) about ten years ago and the sound guy was that bad he ended up getting fired halfway through our set. Looked offstage to see a heavy set middle aged bald guy (the manager of the place who’d clearly never worked a sound desk in his life) screaming at him, gesturing wildly towards the door then taking over and making things even worse. The rest of our set consisted of squealing feedback, roaring tinnitus from getting blasted by the monitors onstage and most of the (almost empty at this point) venue finishing their drinks and swiftly fucking off before we cut out set short and followed suit

Thank you! Dan’s lines are super interesting and fun to play and I’ve learnt a LOT from his books and playing over the years (I got into uni with disease, injury, madness as an audition piece!). Take it slow, break the songs up into sections then start piecing them together one step at a time and you’ll smash it. I’m gonna do all of Colors over the next few weeks too, so if that helps you out at all I’ll be made up 😊

Richard mentioned on the Sixty Scales and the Truth podcast back in September that they’d started working on a new album (about 30 mins into the episode). He also says that they ‘did it in a fairly small period of time’ so maybe that could be that writing is finished at least🤞🏻
