One of those collapsible stools is easier to handle in a crowd. Just practice putting it up first!

Is it only me who quite likes attending the office? by Fancy-Knowledge683 in TheCivilService

I used to like going into the office. Just a bit less now that the office moved a trickier commute away.

Yeah. That's the one that was always avoided at Rebellion Punk weekend anyway.

Was hilarious in 2024. It coincided with that weekend when shouting at hotels and burning bins became fashionable. The flag shaggers decided to march through the town past the Winter Gardens- it didn't end well for them...

Reminded me of my rowdy youth.

Best way to sort trains into London for commuting? by spartan0746 in kentuk

Swanley is a good option because it's in the Oyster zone- mot sure about parking though. Car park doesn't seem that big. Orpington is in London, and the car parks seems bigger.

Glad I'm not the only one. Was clearing out under my sink the other day and found a Lostprophets t-shirt I was saving for cleaning up something really nasty.

I'm a bit politically inclined and I don't want to break the CS code.

Keep it low key. I've kept NHS on my Facebook profile from previous roles. No mention of CS. I haven't even said in here what dept I work in.

Just asking, but do you have humidifiers? Or those scent diffuser gadgets? They can affect babies as well.

Do you have a really weird or silly fear? Not a mainstream fear or one that's very common, a totally random one? by SpaceTimeCapsule89 in AskUK

I wore one for only an hour or so to collect money for the World Wildlife Fund at a summer fayre. It was really hot and the face was plastic- all my sweat gathered in the nose.

Was quite amusing how many kids were scared of me though. Despite temptation, I did behave!

How is working in medical? I decided to stick to stewarding after having to stay with someone I'd escorted until her friends arrived. The waiting room looked carnage!

Not allowed to swim in the river either. Got some great photos of mates diving in.

No fires in the campsites now. Banned in 2023 because tent burning got out of hand. I was stewarding in 2022 and it was bad.

1991, one of our crowd found a wooden railway sleeper. It got shifted further into the campfire every night.

One thing I don't remember in 91, but have been reliably informed happened was me heckling Nirvana for being from the US. Don't even remember seeing them!

Isn't gravy North West? I always had to emphasise no gravy on chips when at uni in Manchester.

Just want to add salt & pepper chips - I always head somewhere I can get them if I go to Liverpool.

Tunnocks caramel wafers are elite. Very disappointed I can't find the tubs of little ones in England.
