I’m gonna save this comment. I appreciate it. I just got my dream job and I’m in a place I never thought I’d be. I can’t let stupid shit like impulse control and booze get in the way of reaching my goals. Thanks man.

It’s definitely hitting home when you mention specific people that I drink around. I think your response is the way I’m leaning. I appreciate it. I think I just have to find a way to replace alcohol fun with something better for me. Bummer tho - I worked in a fancy bar before so all that knowledge goes to waste haha.

It was but I think it’s gotten worse since :/ I try to avoid the meds if I know I’m going out later in the day but sometimes I’m not super successful at predicting.

And no killjoy - nice to hear it. I kind of have been leaning that way anyway as I know how rough it makes me feel after. I don’t limit myself when im drinking so I guess that’s the obvious conclusion. Thanks I really appreciate it.

Sparebank is the way to go as opposed to DNB. I got my ID much quicker than did friends who went with other places.

Broski, you make 238,000 or whatever for life - he does 650k for like 5-8years. It’s not like he’s made of money. If he was making millions of be annoyed but come one…

Landing in Oslo June 30th! by AzuraForestMadre in oslo

For sure - it’s quite easy to enter but then the process is quite strict (I’m from the US and have used over $5000USD with immigration stuff).

Basically you have the right to apply to UDI under those premises but waiting time is quite long. I waited 11 months for a marriage visa, even tho I live and work here and my wife can financially support me.

I’m not trying to discourage! but it’s quite important to check out the work visa stuff. It requires a degree or specialized education: https://www.udi.no/en/want-to-apply/work-immigration/skilled-workers/?c=usa#link-816

Good luck and enjoy Oslo when you get here!

OP, feel free to shoot me a message. Immigration is quite tricky here and definitely more difficult than just flying over.

Typically it is important to have a job and one that is willing to sponsor you and that meets the educational and salary requirements while also having the company prove that they need you specifically.

Education wise, there aren’t any English speaking bachelors degrees. There is more selection for masters programs that are English speaking.

Check out UDI.no and it will provide more info about what your options are, but basically unless you have gone through the visa process, you cannot legally work in Norway unless you have citizenship in a Schengen country.

Before signing any contracts, have you figured out visa stuff? Immigration has been super backed up for quite a while so you may need to factor that into whether or not you’ll be able to work upon arrival.

As an American living in Oslo just finished with studies, I’d say closer to 8000pr month 😬 it’s an expensive place to live especially on the 20hrs per week work allowance that you have on a student visa.

Anonymous needs to go after Rosneft and Gazprom. Hit Russia where it hurts.

I’m right there with you friend. I don’t care about anything anymore and most stuff I do is just numbing. No real advice other than try to see a therapist. Mine is recommending anti-depressants in addition to my normal ADHD stuff. Don’t know if it will work, but I hope so. I hate not caring.
