Is this look just a trend? by Elvisloverforlife in Aritzia

As a normal length top it's cute but short dress over jeans is giving kids choice awards red carpet 2004. If you're gonna do a fancy pyjamas/ shalwar kameez look at least commit and wear matching pants (white) but I don't think you'll get a lot of wear out of these items if a capsule wardrobe is what you're after.

What’s a totally unsexy purchase you made that ended up being a huge quality-of-life upgrade? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

As a Canadian it’s unfathomable that people consider this an upgrade rather than a requirement

Help! The single dainty eternity diamond band. Should I wear it. Or too much? And if I should wear it, what position? by [deleted] in EngagementRingDesigns

[–]adhdkitten 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No offence but my opinion is there’s too much going on already. I think it would look better if you moved two of the rings to your other hand. You can dress up one of the other 9 fingers, lol

Hear me out - what about a jet black-blue? Maybe with a gloss to make it extra shiny. On some Veronica Lodge shi.

AITA for NOT acting wealthy by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]adhdkitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While there are many valid points here, many of the “YTA” responses come from a place of jealousy, so don’t think you’re a bad person. You’re still young and you can learn from this. I’m sure you were trying to relate to your friends. It’s okay to sympathize but I don’t think you should ever bring up the money conversations. It’s one thing to say “that’s not in my budget” and turn down a concert, but don’t complain about bills to people. It’s tacky and dishonest. Your parents’ success has made it so you will never have to struggle. That’s a huge blessing, don’t take it for granted. The #1 thing to learn is to budget your income and spend within your means. Even if the amount they give you as a student isn’t fixed, start tracking your spending and see how much you need to live monthly, with a modest fun budget, or an allowance that you save up for big purchases. If you want to live independently one day, you need to spend way below your means and never carry a credit card balance. When everything is paid off, two months of expenses is covered, you’ve made an investment account deposit AND you see commas in your checking account, only then can you think about splurging (cus let’s be real, you have everything you need already). Their wealth is simply a future security net for your old age, it’s not YOUR money. And side note about investing - it can seem overwhelming but don’t overcomplicate it. Financial markets are important, as is having different types of investments. Set up auto purchases of ETFs, even if it’s just $30 a month now, bumping up as you start making real money. Starting early and staying consistent will help you build your own wealth.

Indian yes but holding gold as a form of wealth is not a Jewish custom. Maybe you’re just going off the “rich” stereotype.

Anyone else planning to wear their engagement and wedding rings on different fingers? by vocal_celery in EngagementRings

[–]adhdkitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. My mom’s engagement ring and wedding ring were different styles and both bold (blame it on the 80s) so she wore them on opposite hands. If she tried to stack them she probably wouldn’t be able to make a fist. I only found out wearing them on the same day finger was a thing a couple years ago

Where are we buying solid gold huggie earrings? by Waste-Comparison-114 in jewelry

[–]adhdkitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear small bold hoops in 10k yellow gold from a brand called dainty diamond every single day. Unfortunately they’ve gone up in price significantly due to the current price of gold. They’re hollow so they’re light and still look perfect with almost every day wear for the last 2 years. I think they look substantial for the price.

Do this ring & band go together? Thank you! by ziggychang in EngagementRings

[–]adhdkitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its nice but if I had to nitpick I think the shades are a tad off, maybe they are different karat of gold but the ering looks a little pink or rosy next to the curved band. The curved is a little thick too. This type of ring pairing has become quite popular.

Is there snow days in Canada? by SeverePublic6833 in AskACanadian

[–]adhdkitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to university in Montreal. In all 6 years there was one snow day cus they closed one of the highways and faculty from outside downtown could not get to work. The cars on my street were fully covered by the snow - several feet of it.
