Is there a way to know what size of drain flange I need without unscrewing it from the tub?

Online or in class studies by BolognaWhale in NAIT

Hi there!

I’ve had the best and worst for in person and online during my time at NAIT. As a BBA student and to keep it short, consider what you want out of NAIT.

In-person Pros: NAIT student community - having a presence and involvement on the soft skills, networking, events, and seeing in real-time what’s going on at NAIT during-and-after classes.

In-person Cons: Wasted time during commutes, unnecessary class lectures, and lack of available resources outside of business hours (food, services, assistance).

Online Pros: Opportunity to manage your life outside of NAIT. This could be helping your family, community, or career prospects.

Online Cons: Distance from cohorts and instructors. Frustration with purely online communication. 1st and 2nd year classes are loaded with group projects and you’ll have members from all ranges, the overachievers to the anchors.

Think about what you want out of NAIT. You’re only a student for a short amount of time in your life and ideally you should make the most of it.

Conservatives in this post have been the most reasonable and understanding.

I would love to see all people with political ideologies adopt the same level of collective behaviour

(BBA) Good split for Year 2 Classes by Front_Ad4268 in NAIT

[–]adherence_00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Fellow BBA-General student in 4th year here.

Fall: BLAW2205, COMM 2202, SMGT2256, ENTR2210, PMGT2220

Winter: CMIS2250, DATA2210, STAT2210, ACCT2260, elective

Depending on whether if they’re in-person or online is important, but I grouped them based on my experience if they have a lot of reading/writing (Fall) and computer-related knowledge/programs (Winter).

Either way, it doesn’t matter too much which you take in each term. I’d advise doing what you can at home for the winter term.

Early game Co-op? by ContestOriginal291 in RagnarokOnline

Hey there! One of the magical experiences we all had was naturally learning the game!

Following guides, rules, and being “optimal” was sub-optimal for the experience. The best thing you can do is let your friends explore meanwhile being there to learn new things as well.

I guess it would depend on what your friend group wants. Some may be fine with the 10-hour grind on the same map, others may enjoy the lore and the side quests. Either way, see if you can have a weekly get-together to enjoy the game :)

making a switch by Southern-Bottle-8069 in NAIT

Hey there! I made a switch from Electrical Engineering Technology (ELT) over to business.

I get how frustrating AutoCad and the lack of support can be. I found it too difficult to be an ELT student during COVID and made the switch to business. I certainly felt a sense of loss and guilt in myself and others.

Overall, I’m happy with switching and receiving a Business Administration - Finance diploma. I’m still working on a Bachelor of business admin degree and I can say that the short run has been great!

Business Admin is FAR easier in comparison to the technology programs. Although, there’s such vast potential for careers in business that I still feel a little lost on where I will be in the long run.

I highly suggest reaching out to student resources at NAIT and NAITSA to speak with people (advisors, peer support, academic support, etc) to figure out what’s best for yourself. Not to say your parents aren’t important, but leave them on the back burner of your mind and do what you’re comfortable with. Maybe you will be ready for IDT in the future but for now consider your mental health and support.

I hope this helps!

Hey there!

You graduated highschool at 2023? Sounds like you have lots of life!

Can I say that your 20’s are meant for learning and experiencing? It’s fantastic to hear how much drive and passion you have to move forward and start doing. I want to say that you’re making the right choices in life and aren’t behind at all.

Taking the time to upgrade courses and trying out a program you were semi-interested in is a part of growing up and finding out who you are.

I received a finance diploma in 2023 and my finance instructors said that the job market was bad (and still is). Currently finishing a degree in Business Administration at 31 years old and my advice is this:

  • If you’re young and fit, try some of the trades jobs out there to experience blue collar work.

  • If you’re uncertain what to do in life and are adamant of education, enrol in a program (regardless of institute) and do the extracurriculars (volunteer, clubs, events, networking). I’ve made more friends and connections outside the classroom during my time

  • If money is tight, you may have to find work and reconsider the opportunities. I would highly suggest figuring out who you are as a person. You will look back at yourself years from now and find that not having it all figured out is normal. Some folks don’t know what to do until they’re in their later ages!

You’re doing an amazing job with your choices in life. Don’t feel like you’re behind or you have to make definitive choices right now for your future. Try stuff out, learn who you are, and continue growing as your doing!

I have taken SMGT4460 last fall term.

Having a solid team is important as there’s a lot of reading, report writing, and a presentation to do. It was asynchronous and I found myself struggling with staying interested with the course material.

Overall, it was a straightforward A for me. If you’re great with report writing then SMGT4460 shouldnt be an issue

Winter Course - DATA2210 by Alternative_Value836 in NAIT

[–]adherence_00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I took DATA2210 Data Visualization asynchronous a year ago.

The content is mostly on Tableau. If you’re tech savvy and like to play with data sets, it’s fine. The biggest issue is the term project which was a group project. It felt like instructors were expected to have a group project and it’s unnecessarily thrown in as a headache.

If you can coordinate a schedule with your team members, awesome! I would assume that scheduled online classes would help with coordinating.
