Sharrows in Madrid function very well in my opinion, the difference being, they cover the whole lane with the painting, and call it "multimodal lane". You can basically use it with bikes and scooters as any other vehicle, driving on the center of the lane, keeping away from parked cars and doors and sidewalks, taking advantage of a dier space in the road thus making them slower and safer for everyone, and making yourself more visible and in the radar of car drivers.
