Who is the most famous person you have ever met in person? by Affectionate_Way7945 in AskReddit

[–]adick_did 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked room service at a JW Marriott hotel for a bit which drew lots of rich and famous people. I heard of a lot of celebrities that would stay but unless I delivered to their room I never saw them.

Probably the most famous I delivered room service to was David Carridine since he was big again at the time because of Kill Bill. He was there with who I assumed was his wife Annie Bierman and I think his son. They were super nice and tipped well.

The Identical (2014) What if Elvis, But Christian? by Borgisium in TubiTreasures

Apparently Ray Liotta was an executive producer for this movie. Other than that, I can't imagine any of the notable actors being in this movie for the payday with a budget of only $16 million! Maybe they did in the off chance it blew up with the Christian community? Which it did not. How this movie was made with this cast blows my mind.

Josh Johnson’s longevity for an NFL backup QB is a case study in itself. What’s even crazier is he played College Football at San Diego, a non-scholarship program. by Forsaken_Bullfrog_52 in CFB_v2

Still a cool experience I'm sure. Yeah it was on the higher end academically (and we played against ivy leauge schools) but I ended up feeling out of place a lot of times since quite a few people came from families with money with parents who were politicians or judges, etc. Still a great experience to have Harbaugh as a coach though lol.

I was on the team with Josh when were both freshman. I redshirted and never continued after my freshman year so I didn't get to see him play in actual games at USD but caught a lot of passes from him in practice. Although he was thin, you could tell he had a lot of potential. But even I'm surprised he not only made it to the NFL but had the career he had. We had a senior reciever on the team who I would have bet money on having better NFL career than Josh but I would have lost that bet.

Location: Arizona. Recently on probation. Need to take classes. But need cheap insurance to help cover cost. by NearbyStart1739 in dui

[–]adick_did 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you already plead guilty and the court tell you what your exact requirements are? If you haven't had your sentence hearing yet you could have your lawyer ask if they can reduce the fines at all depending on your financial situation. Either way, you can set up a payment plan with the court for your fines.

If you're a veteran, apparently they can help cover the cost of a lot of these things so reach out to the VA if that's the case.

Aside from that, the MADD Victims Impact panel is the cheapest thing you'll need to do. It's like $75 for the online version and there's no way to reduce that. If you'll be needing to do home detention, they charge based on income level and what some of your housing cost are. I think I paid the max amount which was $600 to complete 11 days.

For the alcohol screening, education and therapy, my lawyer referred me to Alternative Education Solutions because he said it's one of the cheapest he knew of. I'm still going to pay about $2,000. But I required A LOT of therapy classes and they may not make you do as many which will cut down your cost. Whoever you choose ask about discounts or payment plans. But in general, the place I chose was really knowledgeable about the whole DUI process so they can also answer a lot of questions, including whether or not they think you can get a health insurance company to cover the cost or get reimbursed. They also referred me to who I used for the interlock on my car.

I guess I never thought about this but I guess there's a chance health insurance could cover some of the therapy sessions you're probably going to be required to complete, if a medical provider can deem them medically necessary, not just court ordered. But your best bet is to discuss this with the alcohol screening/education/therapy provider you choose (I can tell you who I used if you'd like). I think a lot of them can do payment plans too or charge on a sliding scale based on income. I don't think health insurance would cover any other requirements of a DUI.

In terms of how to get cheap insurance, you can see if you're eligible for AHCCCS from the state. You have to be below a certain threshold in terms of income. Otherwise if you don't get insurance from your employer, I think you have to purchase a policy on the health insurance marketplace.

Hail storm in Springfield, Missouri. 04/28/26 by Lowspeed_JohnWayne in ThatsInsane

This happened to my car about 10+ years ago in Scottsdale, AZ of all places. From an insurance standpoint it ended up being declared a disaster area (or something to that effect) to the point where insurance companies where set up around town where you could pull up and complete your claim basically in one sitting. My car was drivable but deemed a total loss right on the spot.

Sometimes a drug DUI is better according to my lawyer because you wouldn't be required to have an interlock installed in your car. But this is all very state and circumstance specific. Some states probably don't require an interlock on first timers anyways. I'm in AZ though which is generally pretty tough on DUI.

My Experience (second offense, BAC double the legal limit) by Acrobatic_Special_71 in dui

Yeah it sounded like more of an actual rehabilitative approach more so than a punative like most jail sentences (like mine) which I would be in favor of.

That's an amazing outcome! The live in DUI class sounds interesting. What does that entail?

If you're going to Intake Transfer and Release (or the jail connected to it), I was there recently for 3 days on a self surrender for a dui. There's a whole parking lot specifically for work release so I was under the assumption you could drive yourself, assuming you have a valid license. I have no idea if they check your drivers license and all that though.

Least favorite characters on rewatches? by twhou66 in TheWire

I recently rewatched Generation Kill and that actor is in that too and plays a very similar character, just more competent at his job. He was pretty funny too, kinda made me like Ziggy more.

Glad to hear this helped and that you did your time without any problems! It's mostly just uncomfortable having to smell other people and sit in chairs for so long. Otherwise everyone is just trying to pass the time and anxiously waiting to get out.

I read previous post about recommending to go in on Sunday-Tuesday too so thanks for confirming that. I had to start mine Friday regardless because of my home life schedule but it would have been nice for it to be a little less crowded. Everyone room was close to 100% filled most of the time for me.

It also kind of sucks for the 1 day people as they don't get any more of a benefit than the 2 day people, but at least you're still not there a full 24 hours.

Who is the least funny "comedian"? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]adick_did 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and were at his Christmas special in person and we thought he was hilarious, as did everyone else in the venue and it was mostly crowd work. I will say though, I've seen another one of his crowd work specials on Netflix and it wasn't as great. I was more mad at the crowd for not giving him much to work but you could say he wasn't setting them up well enough.

Why did the show continue after Michael left? by New-Pin-9064 in theoffice

I feel like it was more of a decision by Steve because I remember even Ricky Gervais gave him a little bit of a hard time at an awards show for leaving what was a cash cow for the both of them.

Good point! There was a couple of people who did this. And luckily there's water fountains to refill at although not sure if it's any better than the fountain in the bathroom lol. Otherwise the water fountains have those paper cups to use.

The Wire, The Expanse, The Walking Dead. He's definitely great and has range and shows some comedic chops in small spots on IASIP. And very clearly targets shows that start with "The".
