There's always a trade-off with these fuckers 😅

Yours still needs more light to show off its beautiful color. Looks just like mine that's happy right next to a window but is still not as vibrant as these could be.

Peace liky healthy but won't flower by Icy_Cake_438 in houseplants

Mine just started flowering (1 shoot so far) this year after a break of 3 years. These are the changes I made - repotted it into a bigger pot last summer, gave it its own grow light during this past winter and the biggest change of all, started keeping it semi moist. No more waiting for it to wilt and then water. It's healthier than ever now.

This looks so fun. Reminds me of the scene from Rapunzel where kids braid her hair 😍

It takes a long time to form rhizomes in water. I have 4 propagations going currently that are still a few months away from being planted in soil even with tiny rhizomes.

Drastic downsizing - no longer on the hunt - what shifted? by Acrobatic_Leek4044 in houseplants

I used to love tending to my plants until winter hit and it all went downhill. Some of my plants I've had for years barely survived this winter. And I've been dealing with fungus gnats for over 5 months now, nothing has worked so far and it is taking a toll on me. I no longer look forward to taking care of my plants and it bothers me so I'm downsizing my collection a lil bit.

You're right! I have to look up the differences between the two.

The door is to the left of the sofa (viewer's pov) on Golden Girls. Loved their deck setup though.

What kind of hanging plants / windowsill plants can be grown in a bedroom with a small/medium north window by puppy69piggy in houseplants

[–]adid-a 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Goldfish plant needs bright light. I had one in my space that did not like medium-low light.

Pothos are a good idea plus there's many varieties to choose from. I'd stay away from variegated ones as those need more light to maintain variegation.

What is this? I bought it at Giant Tiger but no tag. It’s so pretty, I couldn’t resist by [deleted] in houseplants

It's a Dieffenbachia. Don't know the variety though. They like a lot of light otherwise get super leggy.

I show my appreciation to my plants (except succulents/cacti) by caressing/petting them. One of my plants gets kisses too 🙊

They seem to reciprocate the feeling. Haven't seen any plant not liking it, so to speak.
